.223 FMJ is an ammunition which was cut from the final version of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky.

.223 FMJ rounds only exist in Clear Sky and are not normally found in the game. The ammunition remains active in existing game code but is not carried by any Stalkers or available for purchase from any merchants, it can be found only in Modifications. Ammunition boxes use the same visuals as 7.62x54mm 7N14 rounds both in-game and in the player's inventory. All text for the ammunition, both name and description, are blank, displaying only the variable names used (e.g. "st_ammo_223_fmj").

.223 rounds are the second highest damaging bullet ammunition in the game, behind .45 ACP Hydroshock rounds. They are second in armor piercing capability only to Accumulators. These two advantages combined with the ammunition's explosive properties make it one of the most lethal rounds present in game code.

Only two weapons are coded to use this ammunition: the Bozar and the .223 pistol, both cut weapons which are implemented in the game files and can be spawned with modifications.

Trivia[]

  • The code for this ammunition is an Easter Egg and homage to the Fallout series. The .223 FMJ is an ammunition featured in Fallout and Fallout 2. In Fallout 2, the .223 FMJ can be used with the Bozar and the .223 Pistol, two weapons which are also included in Clear Sky's code and are also scripted to use this ammunition.
