7.62x54mm 7H1, also known as 7.62x54mm 7N1, is a type of sniper rifle ammunition appearing in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.

Description[]

It is the most basic type of ammunition one can use with sniper rifles, but it still is powerful enough to allow one to score one-hit kills against lightly-armored foes as well as one-headshot kills. In Shadow of Chernobyl and Call of Pripyat the rounds will come in 10 per box, and 30 per box in Clear Sky.

Compatibility[]

Appearances[]

Shadow of Chernobyl[]

A cheap modification of the sniper round for the SVDm 2, SVUmk2 sniper rifles.
― In-game description

Locations[]

It can be easily salvaged from any NPC using sniper rifles - the Monolith faction makes common use of sniper rifles in the Red Forest and Pripyat, meaning one can easily collect a good amount of rounds for the final levels. 7N1 rounds can also be purchased from Petrenko and Skinflint after the player has attained a friendly relation with Duty and Freedom, respectively. 7N1 rounds can also be found in some stashes and random boxes may contain them.

Clear Sky[]

7.62-caliber high precision armor-piercing sniper round. Used with the SVDm 2 and SVUmk2 sniper rifles.
Clear Sky in-game description

In Clear Sky, 7N1 rounds have been made slightly less penetrating than its previous iteration, although they are slightly more accurate.

Locations[]

Sakharov will almost always have these bullets in stock, and Ashot can sell them after joining Freedom. The trader in the Red Forest may sell these rounds, and most snipers carry small amounts of these bullets on them. They can be found in Stash in the pipe and Tree stump near the wooden deck in Dark Valley and Case at the factory in Yantar.

Call of Pripyat[]

A 7.62 caliber sniper round with a steel penetrator specially designed for the SVD. Unlike the machine gun round, the 7H1 provides tight groupings and excellent penetration characteristics.
― In-game description

In Call of Pripyat, the 7H1 is is the only ammunition type available for both the SVDm-2 and the SVUmk-2.

Locations[]

Unlike most ammo types in the game, NPCs wielding sniper rifles will not have extra ammunition in their inventory, and the only rounds that one can acquire are loaded into the NPC's weapon, thus one has to unload the weapon in order to collect ammunition. The best place to go for these rounds is the River Port as it has often Monolith marksmen guarding it. More rounds can be found in a stash north west to Kopachy village under a tree in Jupiter, and atop a train north to the Jupiter plant. These rounds are sold by Owl from the beginning of the game, and after completing some missions he will sell more of them.

Trivia[]

  • The names "7H1" and "7N1" are interchangeably used to refer to this ammunition in the series. The former derives from "7Н1", the Cyrillic spelling of the ammunition, which is spelled "7N1" in Latin script.
  • In Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat, the inventory icon is shared with the 7.62x54mm 7N14 ammunition. This is likely an oversight by the developers.
