9x18mm JSP-AP (Jacketed Soft Point - Armor Piercing), also called 9x18mm PBP, is a type of ammunition which was partially included in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky.

Characteristics[]

Build 1844 9x18mm +P+ ammobox

9x18mm JSP-AP rounds use a Jacketed Soft Point (a jacketed bullet with an exposed tip). Rather than expanding on impact, the bullet deforms slightly, allowing for a limited Armor Piercing effect.

JSP-AP rounds are partially implemented in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl. They have an in-game model and are defined in code, but lack inventory icons. If somehow obtained they cannot be used in any weapon. The ammunition's ballistic properties are the same as in previous builds of the game.

Similar to Shadow of Chernobyl, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky' provides an in-game model and code definition for the ammunition, but no icons and no support in any existing weapons. Additionally, the ammunition's ballistic properties have been modified to be identical to those of +P+ rounds.

Call of Pripyat[]

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat fully removed JSP-AP rounds from its code, but still contains the in-game model for the ammunition.

Development[]

9x18mm JSP-AP rounds appeared as an available, usable ammunition as early as Build 1844 and were usable in 9x18mm weapons up to Build 2215. Compared to 9x18mm +P+ rounds, JSP rounds are capable of traveling less distance and have a weaker stun capability, but are superior in armor piercing and impulse attributes.
