You've helped the Freedom faction a lot and became famous among its fighters and sympathizers. But do not forget, not everyone likes Freedom.
Friend of Freedom is an Achievement earned for maxing out one's reputation with Freedom in Call of Pripyat. It is one of the few achievements with both rewards and drawbacks.
Rewards
- You are given a Wind of Freedom Suit in your Yanov locker.
- Hawaiian's prices drop, making him a useful trader.
- Nitro raises his prices dramatically.
- Duty units become openly hostile to the player.
Earning the Achievement
Essentially, any of the quests that make you choose between Duty and Freedom are chances to build up your reputation with Freedom.
- Give Morgan's PDA to the Freedom leader.
- Protect the Freedom Armory from the Duty squad.
- Give the Duty General's PDA to the Freedom leader.
- Encourage Rogue to join Freedom.
As well, doing the quest for Uncle Yar will give a small boost, whereas turning in Flint will earn you a small drop if you report him to either Freedom or Duty. The negative effect (Nitro's price hike) can more or less be completely negated by completing the cement factory quest before one sides with Freedom, and most Duty units that appear will be woefully underarmed compared to the large Expert-led squads Freedom begins to field.
