The Vehicle station, also known as Car park, is a location in the Cordon, appearing in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky.

Overview[]

An abandoned industrial facility located south east of the Mill and Bus stop, and south of the Railway bridge. The area was apparently home to an automotive cooperative named "Lokomotiv" (Ru. Локомотив) before it was abandoned. The facility consists of four buildings in various states of dereliction. Abandoned equipment such as a tractor and a truck can also be found within the facility.

Appearances[]

Shadow of Chernobyl[]

In Shadow of Chernobyl, the location is known as the Car park. It is prominently featured in the very first mission of the game which requires the player to rescue Nimble from a group of Bandits at the car park, on Sidorovich's behalf. The player may then take part in an assault on the facility with Petruha and his stalkers.

Initially, the station is inhabited by a group of six to eight Bandits armed with PMms, sawn-off dbl barrels and occasionally Viper 5 submachine guns.

After the raid is completed, Loners will sit and camp there. However, Bandits will reappear periodically in the area, usually one to three, after the initial group is wiped out. They will carry similar weaponry to the first bandit squad. If the player chooses to omit killing the bandits in the car park, or doesn't manage to finish them off due to the deaths of Wolf's scouts, the bandits will remain holed up in that location for the rest of the game.

Later in the game, Bandits repeatedly attempt to recapture the Car park and Loners will automatically counterattack in order to displace them. In these instances, the Loners will be pretty effective since their groups will consist of experienced stalkers with better equipment.

Clear Sky[]

In Clear Sky, the Vehicle station is initially controlled by the Military. It is home to a detachment of soldiers led by General, on standby for a mission to rescue Major Khaletskiy from the Loners. As part of the main story, the player must assist the Loners into attacking the station and killing General, in an effort to demoralize Khaletskiy and force him to reveal the location of Sidorovich's loot. After the battle, the station is permanently occupied by Loners.

The Trophy AKM-47/2 requested by local stalker squad leaders in an optional side mission is also found there.

Loot[]

Shadow of Chernobyl[]

Loot can be found all around the place due to the massive presence of wooden boxes - they mostly contain food and drinks.

The following stashes can be found in the car park:

Clear Sky[]

The unique Trophy AKM-47/2 can be found in the station, in a fridge in the attic of one of the buildings. The weapon only spawns when the associated side quest has been taken.

General also holds the Flash drive with data on balancing automated parts in his inventory.

Trivia[]

  • In Shadow of Chernobyl, the sign at the entrance of the park reads "Registration of routes" but in Clear Sky, the sign reads the name of the cooperative "Lokomotiv".
  • In Shadow of Chernobyl, Sidorovich tells the player about a "factory" when asking him about the Cordon. The factory refers to an area that was featured in several of the builds, which was located at the vehicle's station present location. The location was ultimately scrapped from the game, but Sidorovich's description remains implemented in his dialogue.
