A weird place. This silent building likely conceals its share of secrets, but stalkers are drawn here for another reason - a generous supply of artifacts found in this high risk/high reward area. Think fast and act fast, then luck will surely be on your side.
― Multiplayer description S.T.A.L.K.E.R

The Agroprom factory is a location in the Agroprom in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky.

Overview[]

According to local stalkers, the factory was built some time after the Chernobyl disaster as a production facility for the Agroprom Research Institute, in order to produce equipment to decontaminate the area. The factory was shut down before production was even started[1]. The abandoned factory is a popular spot among stalkers, as the location is relatively safe.

Appearances[]

Shadow of Chernobyl[]

In Shadow of Chernobyl, the location is home to a group of stalkers led by Mole. As part of the main story, the player is required to go to the factory to speak to him about Strelok. However, as soon as the Marked One arrives at the Agroprom, he finds out that the factory is being besieged by the military. The Marked One intervenes and fends off the assault, allowing Mole to evacuate. Mole thanks the Marked One and leads him to the entrance to the Agroprom Underground, where Strelok's hideout is found.

After the soldiers are defeated, the factory will be home to a small group of stalkers.

Clear Sky[]

In Clear Sky, the factory is home to another group of stalkers led by Orest. At the factory, the player can find Aydar's workshop and Thrush's store. There is also a manhole in the northwestern corner of the factory area, leading to Hermit. In addition, two captive Renegades can be found in the basement.

The factory does not play a major role in the storyline. The stalkers there are under constant pressure from Bandits, who frequently attack the stalkers from the east and the west. The player may side with the stalkers by taking missions from Orest, who asks the player to wipe out the two Bandits camp from which the assaults are initiated. Following the completion of these missions, the factory becomes much safer, although mutants may still assault the northern entrance to the factory.

  1. S.T.A.L.K.E.R Random dialogue: "The factory was built at the end of the 80s. They said it was going to be used to build and test machines that could treat soil affected by radiation. As far as I know, nobody ever saw a single machine come out of that plant. It's totally empty now, which makes it a favorite spot for stalkers. I hear the place is pretty safe as long as you avoid the dark corners."
