This is a modernized version of the AKM-74/2 assault rifle. An advanced design boosts its rate of fire by 100 rounds per minute. Some design elements were removed to lighten the barrel, which renders optical scopes unusable. Uses 5.45x39 mm ammo.

The Akv 74 is a variant of the Akm 74/2 that was cut from S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky.

This variant of the Akm 74/2 was meant to have its fire rate improved by 100 rounds per minute, making the weapon very similar to the Fast-shooting Akm 74/2 found in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl. However, unlike the Fast-shooting Akm, it had some of its components removed, rendering the use of a PSO-1 scope impossible.
As with all other cut weapon variants of the game, the only remnants of this weapon are its name (st_wpn_ak74_m1) and description (st_wpn_ak74_m1_descr) found in the st_items_weapons.xml file.
According to design documents, it was meant to appear somewhere in the Cordon.
