This case combines an artifact detector, a battery and a powerful transmitter. The device will scan anomalies to determine the number and type of artifacts that appear. All of this information will be automatically relayed to the scientists' bunker.
― In-game description
The Anomalous Activity Scanner is an item featured in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.
Overview[]
This device made by the scientists of the Yanov area brings humanity one step closed in understanding the Zone. Designed to work around the clock, under extreme anomalous condition to scan the area in search and recognition of artifacts does its designated task nearly flawlessly. There are cases, where the Scanner reports an artifact presence, though upon a quick inspection there is none. After returning to the Scientists' bunker it still reports the artifact being present. The next Emission seems to return its processing back to normal. Even so, it is an outstanding device that would help any artifact hunter in his never-ending hunt.
Appearances[]
A total of five scanners can be obtained from Novikov as part of the mission Anomaly research provided by Hermann. Firstly, a series of three need to by set up in one set of anomalies, then two more scanners are possible in another. The order in which they are put, within the series is decided by the player. The anomalies where the scanners need to be set up are:
- First series: Bitumen anomaly, Concrete Bath anomaly and Parking Lot.
- Second series: Ash Heap anomaly and Plavni anomaly.
Trivia[]
- It is unclear if mentioned erroneous readings were made on purpose or if it's just a minor bug.
