Antiradiation drugs are a consumable item that appears in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.

Overview[]

Anti-rad drugs are stalkers' main method of clearing radiation poisoning after exposure to irradiated areas, mutants, or artifacts in The Zone. Anti-rad drugs are common amongst stalkers, regardless of their experience or affiliation. Anti-rad does not prevent or protect from radiation but removes accumulated radiation poisoning after exposure.

Antiradiation drugs are depicted as two pills in a tablet, but their inventory icon shows a syringe even though the player does not make use of one when taking the drugs.

Appearances[]

Shadow of Chernobyl[]

Reduces the effects of radiation.
― In-game description

Antiradiation drugs in Shadow of Chernobyl are capable of completely removing all accumulated radiation poisoning from the player's body, and is usually stocked by most traders at varying prices.

Acquisition[]

The antiradiation drugs are sold by most traders of the game, and many Veteran and Expert ranked stalkers carry them by random chance.

Four antiradiation drugs can be found on a shelf in the Bandit base armoury, in the Dark Valley. One can be found on a sink in one of the bathrooms in Lab X-18.

Antiradiation drugs can be found in the following stashes:

Clear Sky[]

A pack of pills with active ingredients that help expel radionucleoids from the body. The pills do not protect the body from new radiation, but only reduce the existing radiation dose.
― In-game description

In Clear Sky, the only thing that is changed is the amount of radiation removed. Anti-rad neutralizes 'only' 2/3 of the radiation bar. This, however, usually is enough as after being exposed to a higher dosage, death comes very quickly. Take note that just like in Shadow of Chernobyl this only removes accumulated radiation, it does not protect the user from further contamination.

Acquisition[]

They are sold by most traders of the game and seldom carried by stalkers. One is given by Docent Suslov at the start of the game, and another one is rewarded for capturing the Machine yard from the Renegades.

Call of Pripyat[]

Mexaminum radiation protection drugs are common in the Zone. When used, this drug induces contraction of peripheral blood vessels and oxygen deprivation, which serves to treat and prevent radiation exposure. The drug does not have severe side effects, although isolated cases of mild nausea, dizziness, cramps and stomach pain have been reported.
― Call of Pripyat ingame item description.

In Call of Pripyat, it is called Anti-radiation drugs. Just like in other two parts of the series it is not designed to provide long-lasting protection against radiation, but to remove rads already present in player's body over a period of time. However, it can be ingested prior to a dive into a radiation zone to provide some degree of very short term protection. Despite this, usage of Radioprotectant is recommended as protection as its effects last six times longer. Also, it is designed for prevention instead of healing. The main and most important difference for Anti-rad is that irradiation already done will withdraw in time. The effect is not instant like in Shadow of Chernobyl or Clear Sky.

Acquisition[]

Anti-radiation drugs are sold by Tremor, Bonesetter and Hermann. They can be frequently found in the inventories of stalkers, and a few can be periodically obtained from Lieutenant Rogovets in Pripyat by asking for supplies.
