Summary[edit | edit source]
The Ark is a wrecked ship located to the south of the Skadovsk and the Shevchenko, and to the west of the Preobrazhensky Bridge. It is home to the stalker Noah and his pet Pseudodog Lassie. According to local Loners and Bandits, the Ark was built by illegal workers on Noah's demand. Noah believes that his Ark is as good as a fortress, and will protect him when what he calls a "wave of mutants" will eradicate the humans from the Zone.
The Ark is quite a small structure. It has a single door. When opening the door, Noah will believe the player is a mutant, and will shoot at the door with his shotgun while shouting. The player can calm him down by speaking to him, after which Noah lowers his weapon and welcomes the Major aboard the Ark. The Ark can be used as a shelter during emissions.
The Ark is featured in the mission "Getting to the Plateau", where the Major requests Noah's help to reach the Southern Plateau, Stingray 3's crash site. Noah then guides the player to a Teleport anomaly in the Burnt Farmstead. The Ark makes also a second appearance in the Compass mission, where the player must speak to Noah to get a Compass artifact for either Beard or Sultan.

- Both Noah and his ark are heavily based on the story of Noah in the book of Genesis, who was instructed by God to build an ark and fill it up with a pair of every animal on Earth along with his own family. God was planning on exterminating humanity with a great flood due to their devolving evil society. This was the basis for Noah in Call of Pripyat, who did build an ark from the wreckage of an old ship, which shielded him and a group of stalkers from a particularly large emission that he called a "wave" and a horde of Snorks. He mentions all this when the player asks him about his ship.
