Bes is an experienced Loner during the events of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl.
Background
Bes hides in the Zone from the law. Before entering the Zone, he was wanted for two counts of murder and inflicting grievous bodily harm, after attacking a group of people who beat up his friend severely.
When the police arrived at his home, he was forced to shoot one of the perpetrators and jump out of a third story window. After which he escaped to the Zone. He tries to maintain order on his terms.
Despite his self-professed mission to "fight the lawless", he doesn't want to join Duty due to their allegiance with the Ukrainian government and a high possibility of waking up one day in a jail cell.
Cruel but fair.

He is the commander of a neutral squad operating in the derelict machinery scrapyard, which is located in the Garbage. His motivation for fighting the Bandits is moral; he believed in acting like a human being and being selfless, as opposed to greedy. He owns the unique AKS-74U Special and gives one mission; repel a Bandit raid, in which you must assist him and his team against Vasya Boar and accompanying Bandits.
If Bes survives the Bandit attacks and eventual mutant attacks, he may wander off to the Wild Territory or the Army Warehouses. He has a high chance of dying in both areas; either to mutants or Mercs in both areas.
