The Black Forest[1][2] is a location at the Radar in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl.
It's also included in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl as part of the Scorcher area of the Malachite region.
Overview[]
The woodlands area encompasses most of the level, centered on its central and southwestern areas. It is comprised of multiple rocky landscapes and many dead trees, alongside the wreckage of a Mil Mi-6 helicopter. The area is bordered by a fence on its nothern and eastern edges, although the fence is damaged and can be bypassed through several sections. Most of the forest is full of various anomalies and pockets of radiation, and is a haven for mutants; it is also full of artifacts.
Appearances[]
Shadow of Chernobyl[]
The Black Forest is one of the two ways to the Brain Scorcher, the other being the main road. Compared to the latter, the forest has very minimal human presence; other than a Monolith sniping nest in the southeastern area, the only NPCs encountered there are zombified stalkers. On the other hand, the large presence of mutants and anomalies within the Forest make it a dangerous area. blind dogs, pseudodogs, snorks and bloodsuckers are frequently encountered here; pseudogiants and controllers may also be encountered, although more rarely.
The bodies of the research assistants can be found here, near the northern fence leading to the Bus stop and Scorcher technical tunnel.
Loot[]
A PSZ-9d Duty armor can be found in the trailer used by Monolith snipers, at the southeast.
A Goldfish can be found along the southern wall of the Black Forest. A little further west, the player can encounter a cluster of gravitational anomalies among which a Battery, a Spring and a Shell can be found.
The following stashes can be found in this location:

Brothers, as we were patrolling the outskirts of the Dark Forest we came upon an unfaithful loner. We did not kill him, seeing as he was already on his way to conversion, although he was still half-way in his animal state... Such is the wisdom of the Monolith: once again it revealed to us the true countenance of our enemies. Now our faith is even stronger! It is at hand, brothers! The victory over the unbelievers is at hand. Soon the Monolith will fulfill our greatest desires! Those who are truly faithful to it will be drawn to it, to its glory, its greatness! We shall abide in its radiance forever!
