There's a spot in Zaton where heat anomalies emerged underwater. They call it 'Boiler' because there's steam and stuff coming out from the ground. If you think steam is nothing, think again. Seasoned stalkers say this kind of vapor anomaly hits you at least as hard as a regular heat anomaly, if not harder. The temperature may be a bit lower, but it grills you longer. As for artifacts, they found regular ones, the fire kind.
― Loners' description
The Boiler anomaly is a location in Zaton in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.
Overview[]
The anomaly is located in northern Zaton, in a large area with multiple cracks in the ground. The location is unique for its Burner anomalies, known as "Boilers", which emerge underwater. The steam there generates large amounts of ambient heat, making the use of a protective outfit highly recommended for players wishing to find artifacts there. The anomaly spawns fire-type artifacts, by default a Mama's Beads.
Appearances[]
Call of Pripyat[]
On the player's first visit, they will encounter two stalkers, Awl and Petruha, testing the latter's Sunrise suit. Petruha later critically injures himself when he walks into a boiler, which prompts Awl to call the player over and give them a first-aid kit to help Petruha. Successfully helping the two will net the player a Bear detector, or a Fireball artifact is they have a Bear detector or better in their inventory.
