The Bus Station is a location in Pripyat in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl.

Overview[]

The Bus Station "Avtovokzal" (Автовокзал) is the westernmost location in the map, located on the far-left edge of the level. In contrast to all other major and distinctive areas in the level, the Bus Station "Avtovokzal" is actually a completely fictional location and has nothing to do with the actual Pripyat bus station, in both location as well as design of the building itself. In reality, the Pripyat bus station is located on the far southernmost end of the city (on its very edge) and is completely different than the building depicted in game. The real-life Bus Station is correctly depicted in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, although outside the playable area.

There is a crashed Mil Mi-24 Hind helicopter in front of the depot which, according to radio chatter heard in-game, was part of Operation Monolith before it was shot down by the Monolith above Pripyat.

Appearances[]

Shadow of Chernobyl[]

Its interior (especially the ground floor) is one of the most radioactive places in the entire game (surpassing even the Sarcophagus and arguably surpassed only by a few other extensive-irradiated places through all the other levels), since it takes only a few seconds for the player to get fully contaminated (radioactive contamination reaching the highest scale-point in the inventory, depicted by a red radiation symbol on the right corner of the screen), even if using the most outstanding suits for the Zone.

Around the building, a severe skirmish continuously takes place between smaller group of Military Stalkers and Monolith fighters, together with accidentally passing Expert Freedomers often joining against both. The presence of those soldiers skirmishing against the Monolith is explained by the downed Mi-24 nearby. It crashed on the balcony of the very same Bus station and was depicted as being hit by a RPG-7u armed Monolithian on the roof of the Pripyat supermarket building, located just a little further to the north-east of the station. The westernmost corner of the station (where the few car garages are located) serves as a spawn point for Military Stalkers, which are continuously respawning and advancing forward via their waypoint, en route to the Monolith headquarters located in the Palace of Culture.

The area surrounding bus station, except for the aforementioned Mi-24, also features a few abandoned Laz-42021 buses surrounded by many Springboard anomalies that also contain cheap and widespread Jellyfish artifacts in their vicinity, which are utterly useless at this point of the game anyway.

Loot[]

Two Guardian of Freedom suits can be found in this location, one near a flaming barrel in a crater to the direct north of the station, and another in a small building to the north of the first suit. The downed helicopter has a Berill-5M armoured suit and 9x39mm ammunition nearby.

The following stashes can be found in this location:
