The DA-2 detector is the simplest of detectors that were supposed to be available to the player in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl.
Overview[]
The device is a simple one - when anomalies are nearby, it starts generating high pitched tones. The closer the user is to the anomaly, the louder the tones will be. It will also warn the user with a flashing red light.
It is an unreliable device, prone to failures. Furthermore, it doesn't detect all anomalies and typically only responds to strong, concentrated anomalous formations - artifacts. Obviously, it won't work during a blowout.
To work, it must be worn on the belt.
Trivia[]
- It is based on a Pripyat RKS 20.03 Polaron dosimeter.
