The Far outpost, or Military check-point[1], is a location in the Cordon featured in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky.
Overview[]
A small checkpoint located at the northern end of the Cordon, making it one of the two major checkpoints in the area alongside the southern Military checkpoint. It is comprised of a single building and a barrier, surrounded by a fence; in Shadow of Chernobyl, a watchtower is also located at the checkpoint. The location is situated along the road leading towards the Garbage.
Appearances[]
Shadow of Chernobyl[]
In Shadow of Chernobyl, the checkpoint is initially under control by the Bandits. The player is required to go through the checkpoint in order to go the Garbage. After the Bandits are eliminated, Loners will take over the checkpoint.
Clear Sky[]
In Clear Sky, the checkpoint is initially under the control of the Military. It is a crucial target of the Loners vs Bandits faction war, as such the soldiers are likely to get wiped out throughout the events of the game. In Clear Sky, it is no longer the sole route to the Garbage, as there is another through a concrete pipe to the west. Both locations must be captured as part of the faction war.
Loot[]
Shadow of Chernobyl[]
There is a Walker P9m and 9x19mm FMJ ammo in the second story window. The roof can be accessed by jumping off the tower ladder onto the fence and walking around.
The following stashes are found in this location:
- Tower at the check-point - inside the outpost watchtower. Keep in mind that it is sometimes empty and not always full. The stash box is in the shape of a small toolbox.
