Fox
Fox (Ru. Лис) is a minor character in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl. He is also mentioned in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.

Fox is initially found at the Farmstead ruins north of the Railway bridge in the Cordon, and plays a role in the story should the player want to investigate Strelok's lead. Prior to the events of the game, he and his group were involved in a firefight with Strelok's Group, but no one was hurt as it became apparent that Strelok was expecting someone else[quote. 1]. He eventually returned to the Cordon, pursued by dogs which he fought off, but sustaining severe injuries in the process[quote. 2].
The Marked One receives a clue about Fox from Sidorovich and finds him injured, needing a medkit to treat his injuries. Helping him will have Fox thank the player and tell them that his brother may know more about Strelok and direct them towards the Garbage. Afterwards, another pack of dogs will attack Fox. Though optional, one may help Fox fight them off, which will earn the player an additional 1500 RU award.
Afterwards, Fox remains at the farmstead alone, but is joined by Guide and other rookie stalkers after the player recovers the Documents from Lab X16. He does not play any further role in the story.

Call of Pripyat[]
Though he does not appear in the game directly, Fox is mentioned a few times in Call of Pripyat. It is known that after the events of Shadow of Chernobyl, Fox moved to the areas close to the center of the Zone, becoming friends with a stalker named Trapper, with whom he hunted mutants[quote. 3]. The pair ran into two Chimeras in Zaton that, in Trapper's own words, hadn't been seen in nearly two years[quote. 4]. One of the two monsters pounced on Fox, killing him, while Trapper managed to injure the second one, but both mutants managed to escape[quote. 5]. Trapper's mission Night Hunt requires the player to take down the chimera that killed Fox, avenging him for once and for all.
