Joker's Gas mask is a unique Gas mask featured in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.
Overview[]
It is a variant of the standard Gas mask with the "A psy-protection band made of paired steel grills" and "Filter for work in contaminated areas" upgrades pre-installed, with the following effects:
Psy prot. +10%- Chem. prot. +20%
Other than the pre-installed upgrades, the item shares the same name and inventory description as the regular gas mask.
It should be noted that the gas mask's psy-protection upgrade is significantly more effective than expected, meaning that grabbing this item at the start of the game may prove to be particularly helpful to fight controllers or explore psy-fields such as the nearby Scar anomaly.
Acquisition[]
This item is found laying on the ground near the remains of its previous owner, Joker, whose skeleton can be found in Zaton, south of the Oakpine anomaly. Near the gas mask is also Joker's PDA which can be retrieved for the mission Three Comrades. Since Joker's body is a skeleton and not an actual corpse, it is not marked on the map, although the bright display of the PDA can help the player locate him. It is, interestingly enough, always found in full condition despite the nearby corrosive environment.
