There once was this foreigner in our neck of the woods... Gordon was his name? His whole manner gave out an experienced stalker, but he said he’d never been to the Zone. But anyway, that’s not the point. He did vanish somewhere in the Zone eventually. But he had this rather curious thing, the Black Kite. If I could just take a closer look at it...

Gordon Freeman (Гордон Фримен) was a Loner stalker who appeared only in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl in an unofficial Cameo.

Background

Freeman was a theoretical physicist and an expert on anomalous phenomena. He worked in North America on top secret projects in a former secret laboratory known as "Black Mesa", before going missing (this would be the timeframe of Half-Life 2). He arrived in the Zone sometime around 12.01.2012. During his trips, he remarked that he had to sell his crowbar for a can of meat (the crowbar was his signature weapon and explains why he was killed) and grumbles about the Zone's lack of action. As an experienced gunfighter and scientist, Gordon Freeman is very much a capable fighter despite his scientist background. He died in late April 2012 in an underground tunnel in the Wild Territory. Cause of death is unknown, but it is possible it was due to an Emission or Electro anomalies.

Appearances

Shadow of Chernobyl

His body can be found in Wild Territory, in an underground tunnel where the family rifle is. He carries a Desert Eagle and has a PDA note that gives a few details as to why he's in the Zone and also about his past.

Behind the Scenes

  • Gordon Freeman is the hero of the popular Half-Life series.
  • He was originally part of a barkeep mission to recover his pistol, the code of which refers to him as "familiar" in reference to the Half Life series. The mission's code is below:

Notes

  • A unique variant of Black Kite pistol called Big Ben can be found near his corpse in small blue-colored metal box.
