Kostyan this is Hog, remember me? You better because I saved your ass a couple of weeks back.
Background[edit | edit source]
Hog is the leader of a Mercenary team inside the Zone sent in with the job of retrieving an unmentioned rare and expensive artifact. However, the team he sent to retrieve it (led by Leshiy) was lost during an emission, trapped inside a space anomaly.
Hog's team comments that they had been in the Zone for weeks "hunting ghosts" because the doomed team still transmit radio transmissions, though they cannot be found as they are trapped in a loop in space.
Clear Sky[edit | edit source]
Hog can be found at a camp in the Bloodsucker village. Unlike the mercenaries in the Dark Valley, Hog and his team are neutral and will not shoot Scar on sight unless fired upon by him. He is first met by Scar at the Army Warehouses. He gives Scar the task to help him find the trapped Mercenary team to continue the storyline. Hog has a personal stake in this too - if they fail to deliver the artifact to their client, nobody will trust his team with a job ever again.
Hog gives the coordinates of a SGI-5k for 3000 rubles, which is located in a barracks in the outer area of the military base, inside the attic. He also has a number of other secret stash coordinates for sale.
He will remain at the village for the rest of the game.
Notes[edit | edit source]
- In a patch article in the official S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl website it is mentioned that Hog sold his Black Kite to Duty which may indicate he lived to the events of Shadow of Chernobyl, though he is not found nor mentioned in the actual game.
- In the novel Roadside Picnic, there is a Captain Willy Herzog nicknamed "Hog".
