The subject of this article appears in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.

There's an old substation here, also called the Iron Forest. You'll understand why when you see it. Some people claim to have found clusters of artifacts in that area after an emission hit. It's not all that dangerous, mainly electric anomalies and a bit of radiation... There's also a few poltergeists, that will bury you in all kinds of crap if you don't hide in time.

The Iron Forest anomaly is a location in Zaton in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.

Overview[]

The anomaly is located in a large substation in the southwestern corner of the map. The anomaly proper is located in the southeast of the substation, and is comprised of a cluster of Electro anomalies with moderate levels of radiation. To the southwest is the entrance to the Testing Workshop. In the middle, there is a small building with a nearby campfire, where one may encounter wandering Loners or Bandits.

Prior to the events of the game, the helicopter Stingray 2 crashed at the substation. There were no survivors of the crash.

Appearances[]

Call of Pripyat[]

The main questline requires the player to investigate the remains of Stingray 2. Unlike the other helicopters, this one is not necessary to complete the game, but the helicopter's navigational data may be given to Pilot which will earn the player a permanent discount on his trips. There is a Poltergeist lurking around the crash site that, when killed by the player, will respawn after the next emission.

The anomaly itself spawns electric-type artifacts, by default a Sparkler.

Stashes[]

  • Stash containing a Black Kite and 150 rounds of .45 ACP FMJ; at the entrance of the testing workshop, in the desk.
  • Stash containing 180 rounds of 5.56x45mm SS109 and 90 rounds of 9x39mm PAB-9; in the cabin of a truck to the northwest of the substation.
