― Major Kuznetsov

Major Kuznetsov (Ru. Кузнецов) is an officer of the Ukrainian military who appears in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl.

Background[]

Major commanding the army outpost by the bridge. Known to take bribes from stalkers to let them pass over the bridge[non-game. 1].

Appearances[]

Shadow of Chernobyl[]

Kuznetsov is the commander of a military squad positioned at the Railway bridge in the Cordon. Though he and his men appear as hostiles on the player's minimap, they will not open fire provided the player doesn't attempt to trespass. Kuznetsov can be bribed for 500 RU to allow passage through the checkpoint at the bridge. This must be repeated every time the player visits the Cordon.

Kuznetsov carries a unique pistol, the Fort-15, which can be obtained only by killing him. If any of Kuznetsov's soldiers is killed, they will be replaced by Spetsnaz armed with Obokan assault rifles. Provided Kuznetsov is still alive, they will not be immediately hostile; if Kuznetsov is killed however, they will open fire on sight and it will be impossible to pass through the bridge peacefully.

What are you standing there for, stalker? If you want to go through, come up and we'll have a chat. If not, I suggest you take off before we get angry.

Approaching Kuznetsov

Trivia[]

  • He shares his appearance with the Cordon outpost commander.
  • Major Kuznetsov is the highest ranking military officer that can be seen physically in Shadow of Chernobyl. However, his in-game rank (Veteran) is lower than that of the outpost commander, who is ranked as Expert.
  • The soldier at the northern end of the checkpoint uses the same dialogue and voiced line as Kuznetsov, and essentially fulfills the same function as the Major, but for southbound players. If this soldier is killed, he will be replaced by a Spetsnaz that will also have the same role.
