A hand-assembled version of the SVDm-2 sniper rifle. No different in appearance, it nonetheless provides an ideal combination of accuracy and stopping power.
― In-game description

The Lynx is a unique sniper rifle and modified SVDm-2 featured in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.

Appearances[]

Call of Pripyat[]

Sure, just look at Lynx here. Hand-crafted by a local expert. He's deceased now, so there won't be any copies. It looks just like any other rifle, but take it out for some target practice and you'll feel all the difference. It's got a perfect combination of accuracy and stopping power.
Nimble's description

The Lynx has been taken apart and reassembled together by hand with many modified components. As a result, the Lynx is more powerful (20 more damage per shot) and more accurate than a normal SVDm-2. It also features slightly lower recoil than the stock SVDm-2 and higher bullet velocity, and its effective range has been increased to 1000 meters. The Lynx is capable of outright killing or incapacitating lightly-armored stalkers and small mutants with a single body shot.

The Lynx is the second-most powerful and second-most accurate rifle in Call of Pripyat, the first being the Gauss rifle. The Gauss rifle is generally better when the player needs to take down fewer targets at longer ranges as it has a mediocre fire rate but deals twice the Lynx's damage per shot and has a much higher scope magnification. On the other hand, the Lynx is better when the player is facing multiple targets, as it has a much healthier fire rate, although the player will need to aim for the head to have a guaranteed one-hit kill.

Acquisition[]

The player can acquire this rifle by asking Nimble for a sniper weapon. All sniper weapons cost 20000 RU, the player may or may not get this particular weapon on the first request. Buying this gun - or any gun from Nimble - triggers a side quest with Snag who will attempt to take the player's gun away dishonestly claiming the weapon as his own.

Heart of Chornobyl[]

This rifle boasts a unique modification, handcrafted by a now-deceased master. The addition of a new barrel with a custom twist rate has notably improved accuracy and damage, though it appears to have seen little use of late
