― Murk

Murk (Ru. Угрюмый) is a member of Freedom who appears in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl.

Background[]

Murk is the leader of a five-man squad that was sent by Skinflint to clear the Bloodsucker village from mutants[quote. 1], which has settled at a campfire on the outskirts of the hamlet. Murk sent two of his men on a reconnaissance mission at the old water tower in the village, but neither returned alive; Murk and the other two survivors decided to remain at their camp, unsure of what to do next[quote. 2].

Appearances[]

Two dead men from Murk's group by the tower

Murk resides in the camp in the outskirts of the Bloodsucker village, and provides a mission requiring the player to kill all bloodsuckers in the village. Note that this mission may also be obtained from Skinflint at the Freedom base, in which case the player will be asked to talk to Murk and inquire about the village before proceeding with the elimination of the mutants.

Murk will not move out out of the village after the player eliminates the bloodsuckers, and may become the target of an assassination mission given by General Voronin for which he offers the unique Sniper VLA. There is a slight chance he will be killed by a few wandering bloodsuckers that would attack his squad's encampment from time to time. Leading the mutants to them can be a good way to complete the mission given by Duty without angering Freedom.

Trivia[]

  • He is the only known user of Freedom's variant of the SEVA suit in the entire series.
