Ah, the tunnel... There's something there, a strange artifact or something like that. That place is just too weird. At first it was really calm and then I could feel something in my head...

The Northwestern tunnel is an unmarked location in the area around Jupiter in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.

Overview[]

A railroad tunnel located to the northwest of Yanov station. The railway splits into two shortly after the tunnel, with one section going towards Yanov and the southern tunnel while the other section goes towards the substation and the eastern tunnel. The tunnel has long since collapsed, and a derailed boxcar is found at the entrance.

The tunnel's service rooms contain a Tesla anomaly and a cluster of Electros. The tunnel is also the source of a mysterious intermittent psi-field, believed to be connected to a strange semi-artifact.

Appearances[]

Call of Pripyat[]

Professor Hermann at the Scientists' bunker provides a quest that requires the player to venture inside the tunnel to retrieve the semi-artifact while Topol and his team cover the entrance. Initially, the tunnel only contain three Zombified Stalkers and a few rodents, but after grabbing the insulator, a controller appears at the entrance and attempts to subdue Topol's squad to turn them against the player, and the mutant must be killed for the mission to proceed.

After the mission is completed, the tunnel becomes a spawn point for controllers in the level. Stalkers may also explore the area.
