After the military rejected the PSZ-12 in favor of the Berill, a large batch of these armored suits was written off and sold as surplus inventory. In the end, almost all of the Bulats were bought by Freedom.
In-game description
PSZ-12V Bulat is a protective suit featured in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
Overview[]
The PSZ-12V Bulat is one of the very first "heavy armor" type suits the player can acquire in the zone. In it's base form the PSV-12B Bulat has 65% physical protection and can hold 4 artifacts, which makes it a very good upgrade for players that are able to leave the Lesser zone.
Acquisition[]
It can be acquired from a female trader called Birch stationed in Rostok. It's base price will cost the player 48500 koupons. When the suit does not appear in Birch's stock, the player can sleep 2 times to reset all trader inventory's. This may need to be done multiple times because most traders have 'daily offers'.
Upgrades[]
Color-coded upgrades are mutually exclusive. Prices based on Stalker difficulty.
Crafting improvised chain mail is a tedious and time-consuming undertaking, but there are documented cases when it has actually saved lives.
An airtight synthetic lining serves as a secondary protective layer in case the outer layer is damaged.
|
The adoption of lighter synthetic materials for the fabric, buckles, and tighteners decreases the overall weight of the armor.
The aramid lining efficiently disperses impact force, providing effective resistance against shrapnel and bullets in appropriate circumstances.
|
Sewing an extra zippered pocket into the backpack provides a quantitative boost in volume. Qualitatively, the design leaves much to be desired.
|
While stacking additional plates doesn’t enhance bullet resistance, it does contribute to the improved mechanical durability of the vest.
|
The dense polyethylene lining ensures protection against both poisonous substances and electric shock.
Thanks to its anti-static properties, the treatment provides protection against both fire and electricity.
|
The integration of Plexiglas fiber and lead mesh in a woven pattern creates a seamless shield protecting against radiation and harmful substances without impeding mobility.
|
Active filters can neutralize radionuclides.
|
This system electrifies the protective suit’s surface, repelling radioactive particles.
|
Incorporating a hydrator in the backpack ensures quick recovery of the water-salt balance. Nothing prevents the user from filling it with an energy drink, of course.
|
A container fashioned by local craftsmen, offering a secure resting place for an artifact.
A simple and practical way to stay protected from the radiation emitted by artifacts.
|
A scientific breakthrough employing a field system to contain radiation emissions.
