The PSZ-9d Duty Armor is a protective suit featured in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.
Description[]
It is essentially a Duty variation of the Bulat armored suit. It features a different camouflage pattern on both the armor and helmet, and features better overall hit protection than the Bulat suit, but worse anomaly protection. Duty stalkers use this suit in conjunction with a Sphere M12 helmet and a gas mask, save for certain NPCs.
Appearances[]
Clear Sky[]
An early Duty suit model. Became known for its built-in body armor and virtually no protection from anomalous exposure. Cannot be modified to include an artifact container.
In-game description
This suit is essentially the same as the Bulat; the main differences are anomaly and radiation protection (3 points less than the Bulat) and rupture protection (5 points higher than the Bulat). The differences are negligible, both suits are some of the best in the game, however they are somehow limited by their double artifact container limit. The best feature of this suit is that its bullet protection doesn't degrade no matter how damaged it is, which makes it extremely usefull for fighting in Limansk and the Limansk Hospital.
Acquisition[]
The PSZ-9d is only sold by Mitay after joining Duty, provided the faction controls both paths to the Garbage. One is also rewarded to the player for completing the faction war by capturing the Freedom base.
Upgrades[]
Color-coded upgrades are mutually exclusive.
Composite plates provide maximum protection from small arms fire.
A relief vest makes it easier to carry one's load by redistributing the weight.
|
This light alloy frame absorbs most of a bullet's energy.
Special straps make this backpack easier to carry, allowing for heavier loads.
|
Composite plates provide maximum protection from small arms fire.
Suit screening (8800 RU) A complex system of screening cables provides limited psy-protection.
|
This thickening fabric effectively absorbs the energy of a bullet.
Polymer materials offer good protection from heat and electric shock.
| ||
Even if one layer of armor is damaged, the second one will still provide adequate protection.
This special sealant coating can be used to insulate a suit from fire or electricity.
|
Plastic suit elements make it more durable.
When filters are separated from the gas mask, more of them can be used.
| |
Second-generation night vision device (4400 RU) This second-generation night vision device provides a clearer picture with less interference.
Use a more efficient filtering system.
| ||
Artifact container (4400 RU) Container for wearing additional artifacts.

Call of Pripyat[]
This early model of the Duty bodysuit is the Spetsnaz PSZ-9 body armor modified for the Zone. The suit is capable of stopping a rifle bullet, however, this level of protection comes at the cost of its weight, bulkiness and virtually non-existent anomaly protection. The suit cannot be modified with an artifact container, but may be upgraded with a combat support system.
In-game description
It is generally a combat-oriented suit, and as such, provides almost non-existent anomaly protection (akin to the Berill-5M armoured suit). Even worse, it has a single anomaly upgrade which slightly increases the player's resistance against chemical anomalies. This makes the suit among the worst if the player has to go through anomaly fields. However, with the right upgrades, it is the only suit able to reach full armor protection if coupled with a Sphere M12 helmet. Many upgrades are combat-related, easily making the PSZ-9d the best suit to use in combat, featuring better protection than the Exoskeleton.
Acquisition[]
One is deposited for free in the player's personal locker in Yanov station after obtaining the achievement A Friend of Duty. Hawaiian will also regularly have it on sale after obtaining the achievement.
Upgrades[]
Replacing metal with carbon fiber allows the weight of body armor to be reduced without sacrificing reliability.
|
Thinner sheets of armor are layered to increase the armor's wear-resistance.
Increased number of titanium plates considerably improves body armor durability.
|
Combined multi-layered polymer and ceramic coating.
Domestic technology and one of the latest developments in the field of personal protection - the growing of artificial sapphires.
|
More effective that their rubber counterparts, silicon thickeners absorb impact with less damage to the wearer.
|
Lead is a reliable defense against radiation because it absorbs all three type thereof.
A number of ergonomic adjustments that use a rubber construction, which allow mobility to be retained even when wearing bulky armor.
|
Airtight bodysuit with an anti-corrosion layer and Kevlar armor.
|
The system supplies anti-tetanic, anti-inflammatory and streptocide substances.
|
This system removes poisons together with condensate from respirator cavities.
A back frame relieves focused shoulder load from carried weight by distributing it over the body, which increases maximum load.
|
In this combat support system prototype, the designers opted against harmful adrenaline injections, instead including healing substances into the blood clotting system.
|
Generation A injector, developed by one of Kiev's research institutes, regularly injects the bloodstream with tiny doses of adrenalin, which may be dangerous but may also save your life in an emergency.
|
Generation B injector, which regularly introduces a coagulation agent into the bloodstream when blood pressure drops significantly.
|
Generation C injector that introduces a combat mix of dubious content into the bloodstream, improving tissue regeneration and removing pain.
