Damn, that's loud. My ears are still ringing, I feel like I'm deaf!
― Podorozhny during the emission
Lieutenant Podorozhny is a character in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.
Background[]
Podorozhny is one of the soldiers involved in Operation Fairway and is part of a four-men strike team led by Captain Tarasov. The men were part of the Stingray 3 crew which crash-landed onto the Southern Plateau in Zaton. They made it to Pripyat with the help of Noah.
Appearances[]
Call of Pripyat[]
Podorozhny is one of the few surviving members of Operation Fairway when the player reaches Pripyat. Along with his fellow soldiers Valentyr and Morozov, the three are Captain Tarasov's right-hand men in the Laundromat. Their role is minimal at best.
Podorozhny first appears in the first cutscene when the player reaches Pripyat, intercepting the player and their party when they get out of the Jupiter Underground. Afterwards, along with Tarasov, Valentyr, Morozov and Alexander Degtyarev, he takes part in an operation where he attempts to lure out a Monolith Preacher to secure his weapon. Much like Tarasov and Valentyr, he may die if the Preacher is not dealt with fast enough. If he survived, he will return to the Laundromat.
If he is still alive at the end of the game, Podorozhny will take part in the final Evacuation. He can be killed in combat during the mission.
Related missions[]
- Unidentified weapon: He is part of the strike team in charge of capturing the unidentified weapon from the Monolith, where he may be killed.
- Evacuation: If Podorozhny is still alive at this point of the game, he takes part in the survivors' final push for the evacuation point.
Trivia[]
- As with Valentyr, in the cutscene that plays when the player reaches Pripyat for the first time, he wears a Bulat armored suit and uses an AKM-74/2 instead of his usual equipment.
