Fierce, wicked, crude, selfish, cruel, insensitive, cold. Nobody knows when and how he got to the Zone. Everyone fears him and he has no friends. He simply lives in the Zone, with no future and no past. After one of his numerous forays into the Zone, he lost his memory, forgotting nearly everything. He doesn’t remember where he comes from, doesn’t remember his real name, suffers from frequent lapses of memory. Known to completely forget his new acquaintance within an hour, take him for an enemy and kill him[non-game. 1].
According to General Voronin, Poker suffers from a rare disease which causes him frequent lapses of memory and has led him to become extremely violent and cruel, even among bandits[quote. 1].

Shadow of Chernobyl[]
Poker is the target of an assassination mission given by Voronin the Bar. Poker spawns in the Bandit base in the Dark Valley after the player kills Borov as part of the main story. He may also be encountered in the Wild Territory and the Garbage, and in the Cordon on rare occasions.

Trivia[]
- Prior to patch 1.0004, Poker was affected by a glitch which would cause him to fail to spawn, making the associated side quest impossible to complete.
- Despite his biography and Voronin's description, he is friendly towards fellow Bandits. In fact, he may be found alongside Friar, another wandering Bandit that may be tracked down as part of an optional side mission.
- His backstory is similar to Noah's in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.

- ↑ Voronin: "Subject's nickname - Poker. One of the most cruel bandits' leader, swine and rapist... Evidently his head is not okay: they say he caught a rare disease in the Zone. Now he suffers quite frequent lapses of memory, and when he gains consciousness, he can't remember who and where he is. Nevertheless, he's always armed and very aggressive. Presumable location: Dark Valley. Ready for the task?"
