The Psi-anomaly is a type of anomaly introduced in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.

Overview[]

A Psi-anomaly is invisible and will only reveal itself when any detector is held. When revealed, it spawns a field of fake artifacts and one real artifact. It can choose from any of the regular artifacts in-game for the anomaly.

General Characteristics[]

Standing in a Psi-anomaly even if a detector isn't out will slowly deal psi-damage, and picking up fake artifacts will swiftly deal heavy psi-damage. Idling long enough in the anomaly and/or repeatedly picking up fake artifacts will spawn psi-illusions, then apparitions, and then draining the player’s health all at once. The anomaly deactivates once the real artifact is obtained, however any psi-damage taken does not, and will have to be managed with psi-block or waited out.

Even equipped with psi-block and decent psi-protection armor, artifact hunting in this anomaly is time sensitive and requires the player to quickly ascertain between a fake artifact from a real one. A trick to finding the real artifact is that fake artifacts emit an unstable, sometimes colorful aura, while a real artifact emits a uniform circular aura.
