The RGD-5 grenade (Russian: Ruchnaya Granata Distantsionnaya - "Hand Grenade Remote, Type 5") is a hand-grenade appearing in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat.
Overview[]
In the Zone, the RDG-5 is the most common explosive device available and carried by most stalkers, it is also fairly cheap with one costing about 500-600 rubles per piece only. Although it has a low blast radius, the RGD is invaluable for room clearing and urban combat as due to its low powered nature, its explosion limits its destruction to a small area.
The RGD-5 is only slightly weaker than the F1 grenade. The main difference is that the RGD-5 has a smaller blast radius than the F1.

The grenades can be obtained from the following stashes:
- Supplies in the chest x2
- Storage of the Strelok faction x2
- Chest[source/verification needed]
- Safe at the gas station
- Supplies in the bunker
- Good supply chest
- The bag is on the support beam
- Zavhoz chest
They can also be received as a reward for completing certain missions given by Sidorovich:
- Destroy the bandit camp at the Garbage
- Eliminate two bandits at the Garbage
- Eliminate the bandits by the Agroprom Research Institute
- Kill the Bloodsucker in the Dark Valley
It can be bought from Petrenko, Sakharov and Skinflint.
Veteran zombified stalkers wandering through Yantar often carry this type of grenade. Random NPCs also tend to carry these, starting from the Cordon and all the way until Pripyat.
Clear Sky[]
Offensive hand grenade with a small radius of fragmentation damage. Its shock waves have an 8-meter blast radius.

The RGD-5 returns in Clear Sky. Unlike the previous game, it can now be used by NPCs.
A unique RGD-5 grenade, the Souvenir grenade, is also featured in a side quest for Loners NPCs in Yantar.
Call of Pripyat[]
An offensive hand grenade with a small kill zone of 5 meters. Often used by stalkers to "smoke out" mutants due to its relatively low cost.

The RGD-5 returns in Call of Pripyat, mostly identical to the Clear Sky rendition. It is a common find in the inventories of low-ranking stalkers and can be purchased from various traders.
