Rookie Village

The Rookie village.

The Rookie village is a small base of Loners, mainly Rookies, in Cordon, which is the main gathering point for new arrivals in the Zone. The base itself is situated in a small hamlet of seven houses, with Sidorovich's bunker a few metres west of the last building. A stalker named Wolf acted as a leader and mentor among the rookies, and is later succeeded by Fanatic in that role.

The village was abandoned by it's previous inhabitants in 1986, when the first Chernobyl accident took place. The residents were heistly evacuated, and all their possessions were left behind. In the upcoming years the homes were broken into and plundered - the houses were left almost empty. Sometime after the second incident Sidorovich moved in the small bunker west of the hamlet. He started a trading business with the Stalkers and the Military alike. Some months later the operation ended, as a new commander took up the lead of the nearby Army Outpost.

Secrets

There is a hidden Stalker Stalker Suit (Merc Suit in the patched game) in the roof of a house for details see Stalker Suit.

Every house has something in it, so look and explore is the key of a good start ! It serves as a training also to learn to jump onto roofs and move around also.

There are a few decent boxes around, take your time and explore all the buildings in the village !

Plus, every couple of times you enter the cordon from another area, the blue chest in the rookie village will be filled with a couple of random items !
