The SSP-99M Suit is a protective bodysuit designed for scientific expeditions into the Zone. It is available to the player only in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl.

Features

This suit is a high quality modified SSP-99 suit. It provides increased body protection from bullets and splinters, as it was designed for guards working with scientific expeditions. This suit comprises a closed-cycle breathing module and an integrated anomalous field suppression system. Anomaly and radiation protection is equal to that of the SSP-99 suit, making the two unmatched in those terms. This suit provides bullet protection equal to that of the SEVA Suit, but offers better explosion protection and higher durability, and it even weighs less. All of this combined with a second generation night vision device make it one of the very best suits in the Zone, It is the best for the conditions of the later areas as there are high radiation levels in these areas as well as well equiped enemies, most notably the monolith faction, and the military

Acquisition

These suits are available from Sakharov, as a reward for completing a mission.

He also sells it to the player after the Psi-emitter in lab X16 is disabled or doing all his jobs.

Notes

  • Sakharov mentions that their suits are unmatched in radiation protection due to the high quality materials and helmet, as well as a special coating he uses which comes from the Urchin artifact.
  • It is unavailable in Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat without player-made mods. In Clear Sky however the suits are still seen in the decontamination chamber near Sakharov's table. In Call of Pripyat a SSP-99M Suit can be seen in the decontamination chamber in front of Novikov's window.
  • Lt. Sokolov wears this suit when travelling with the player to Pripyat. He changes back to his original Army Outfit once he makes it to Pripyat, but he does not give the SSP-99M suit to the player as a reward for having survived, unlike Zulu and his custom PKM. Neither does he give it to the player to be returned to the scientists (since it was on loan).
