This one seems to be alive. What a lucky guy... At least death would have saved him from the dreams. Let's go and see what value Sidorovich will put on your head.
― Red

Red (Ukr. Рудий) refers to the stalker who saves the Marked One from the wrecked death truck at the beginning of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl. Not much is known about him. Red returns as a mentioned-only character in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl

Inspiration[]

The introduction video shows him as a stalker with fair, reddish hair, a feature not seen on any other game characters. This might be a reference to Redrick (Red) Schuhart, one of the protagonists of Roadside Picnic, the novel that served as one of the main inspirations for the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series.

Red is only seen in the introduction cutscene for Shadow of Chernobyl, picking up the unconscious Marked One from the crash site of a death truck, perhaps somewhere in the Cordon. Afterwards, he is seen delivering the unconscious stalker to Sidorovich's bunker and is never seen for the rest of the game, even though his dialog suggests he works commonly for Sidorovich. He is seen with a brown trenchcoat and a Vintar BC sniper rifle.
