The Shevchenko (Шевченко), or Taras Shevchenko (Тарас Шевченко), is a location in Zaton. It appears in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.

Overview

Decal shevchenko

Much like Skadovsk, a rusted shadow of its former self, an old tanker ship is a permanent landmark of swampy Zaton. Although it is not much of a full fledged stalker camp, it does provide good cover in case of an Emission for Stalkers who otherwise wouldn't make it in time to Skadovsk . Only one mission takes place in Shevchenko vicinity - The Hit.

Layout

Much smaller and less complicated if compared to its distant relative - Skadovsk. It has no signs of any kind of work put into some kind of reviving the ship, also it seems that it is in far worse shape. One can forget of such luxuries as company of fellow stalkers much less, electricity. The interior is dark and rusted giving a very eerie feeling.

Inhabitants

Apart from occasional visitors who, in most cases, take refuge and cover from an Emission this wreck has no permanent dwellers. During The Hit mission, Spartacus' team resides here.

Trivia

  • Texture file suggests that most probably this ship is named after a Ukrainian poet, Taras Hryhorovych Shevchenko (Тарас Григорович Шевченко). He lived in the 19th century.
  • The other, very unlikely possibility is that this ship's name is a reference to Vladimir Shevchenko, a Ukranian film-maker who was permitted into the area around Chernobyl disaster.
