― Skull
Skull (Ru. Череп) is a character that appears in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl.
Background[]
A Duty colonel who commands a special forces squad[non-game. 1] established in the Army Warehouses. He and his men actively disobeyed Voronin's orders not to attack Freedom directly[quote. 1]. The group is planning to storm the Freedom base, but all their attempts so far have been thwarted by a Freedom sniper, who is guarding the western wall that Skull and his group plan to blow up to enter the base.
Appearances[]
Shadow of Chernobyl[]
Skull resides in the Abandoned farmstead to the west of Freedom's base, leading a group of seven Tunder S14-equipped Exoskeleton-clad experts. Skull can hire the player to assist the group's assault on the Freedom base; this requires first to kill the sniper that is responsible for shooting one of Skull's men, and then to participate on the assault on the Freedom base. Alternatively, one can tip Lukash off about Skull's plans, which will prompt him to send Max and his team to eliminate the group.
There are high chances for Skull to die during the raid. However, with sufficient protection (especially against the Freedom snipers), he has a chance to make it out alive. If he dies, whoever of his squad that survives the raid will give the player their reward instead.

Trivia[]
- As with all important characters, the corpses of Skull and his team remain forever, letting players use them as a stash of sorts.
- Curiously, though Skull is the leader of his platoon, he is the least experienced of all; most of its members are in the ranking of the best stalkers, while he is never there.
- In earlier versions of the plot, it was Wolf that gave Skull the dynamite. In the final version of the game, Fanatic does mention that Wolf left the Rookie Village with a box of dynamite, but Skull never brings up the origin of the explosives he uses.
