The soldier uniform (called the army outfit in Build 2205) is a uniform appearing in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, used by low-ranking military NPCs and not usable by the player.

It is included as a wearable suit in a number of Builds and is partially implemented in Shadow of Chernobyl, where it appears as a strange variant of the leather jacket.

Is notable that it shares many characteristics of the Berill-5M armoured suit suit, which has similar stats and can be used by the player.

Overview[]

The uniform consists of a Soviet-pattern camouflage battle dress uniform, heavy military boots and a PSZ-7 (Personal Protection System Model 7[1]) bulletproof vest, combined with a backpack and combat webbing. Typically, it's worn without a helmet, only a bandana or a black watch cap. When worn by NPCs, it has protection equal to that of the stalker suit.

Appearances[]

Build 2205/2215[]

If obtained in builds 2205 or 2215, the Army Outfit provides moderate protection from most types of damage and is overall superior to the Stalker Suit. It is fully implemented, containing an inventory icon as well as a HUD graphic indicating the player's appearance when worn.

Shadow of Chernobyl[]

The Army Outfit did not fully make it into the final release of Shadow of Chernobyl. The in-game model for the armor is still available, but the inventory icon and player appearance graphic are no longer present. The armor is implemented as a real, obtainable item, but uses the inventory icon, name, and item description of the Leather Jacket instead. It provides almost no protection when worn, offering only 30% protection from Rupture damage.

Only one known location for the Army Outfit exists in Shadow of Chernobyl, inside an attic in the Military checkpoint on the south end of Cordon. The armor can be reached by starting from the piles of concrete behind the barracks, jumping to the top of fence, sprint-jumping to the outhouse and then sprint-jumping from the outhouse to the roof of the nearby barracks building. Up to two copies of the armor armor are located within the breakable boxes found in the attic room.

Clear Sky[]

It is not available to the player in any way, but is used by low ranking Ukrainian soldiers.

Call of Pripyat[]

The Army Outfit is only worn by Lieutenant Sokolov, the co-pilot of the Stingray 4 gunship. This is primarily due to the fact that all of the soldiers in the Stingray group were Spetsnaz operators not regular soldiers, who are the only ones who wear this suit. Sokolov, being a pilot and not a special forces operator, was only issued with basic protective gear instead of a bulky Berill-5M armoured suit.

Meshes for low-ranking soldiers still exist in the game files, but were left unused.
