The Southern checkpoint is a location in the Radar in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl.

Overview[]

The checkpoint is located at the southeast corner of the Radar, at the entrance to the road that leads to the forest from the Army Warehouses. It is comprised of a single guardhouse with its assorted barrier, a concrete fence and several derelict vehicles.

Appearances[]

Shadow of Chernobyl[]

This location is the first area visited by the player when they enter the Radar from the Barrier. It is initially home to four Monolith stalkers, who regularly respawn. After the Brain Scorcher has been deactivated, soldiers will start spawning at the checkpoint as well, battling the Monolith guards for control over the checkpoint. Loners may also appear in the vicinity of the checkpoint, although it is uncommon.

Loot[]

Two medkits can be found in the guardhouse, as well as a metal box containing ammo. There are several crates around the area that can be destroyed for loot.

Trivia[]

  • The game files contain unused dialogue lines for the Monolith guards at the checkpoint, which the player would be able to overhear when approaching the checkpoint stealthily.
