Template:Helmet A low quality counterpart to the equally poor Respirator, the Steel Helmet is a more combat-oriented helmet. It offers significantly more durability and protection from both gunfire and explosions compared to the respirator, and can also be upgraded to use a tier one night-vision module. An upgraded version can be found inside a container hidden away inside the Claw Anomaly's caverns, which can be taken to Cardan and pried open for 500 RU. While not quite as poor as the Respirator in terms of protection and durability, however, it isn't much better and the player is encouraged to find a better variant as soon as possible. Presumably, this is the helmet included with the CS-1 Body Armor in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky.
