Steel helmet

Snag's Steel helmet is a unique variant of the Steel helmet available in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.

Overview[]

An excellent helmet, handmade. A while ago we got this new stalker at the Cordon, a real handyman. Made a bunch of real cool stuff before he croaked. This helmet is one of them. You won't find one like it anywhere!

It is a variant of the standard Steel hemet with the tier 1 "Impregnated breathing mask" upgrade pre-installed, with the following effects:

Chem. prot. +10%
Rad. prot. +10%

Other than the pre-installed upgrades, the item shares the same name and inventory description as the regular steel helmet, and also uses the same upgrade tree.

Acquisition[]

The helmet is owned by Snag, and is initially found inside the steel box at the bottom of the chasm near the Fuelling station in Zaton. There are two ways the player can obtain the helmet:

At the end of the mission Unreachable Stash, the player may give the box back to Snag, who will allow the player to take two items out of five in the box. The player can select the Steel helmet as one of the items. Alternatively, one may bring the box to Cardan who will pry it open for 500 RU and allow the player to secure the entire contents of the box, Snag's Steel helmet included.
If the player chose to split the loot with Snag but did not take the helmet, it can be acquired again at the end of the mission Theft, where the helmet will be inside the locker at the basement of the Substation, where the player's stolen loot will also be found.
