For the level in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky, see Swamps. |
---|
The surest place is the acid swamp. It's full of gravitational anomalies, but those are easy to spot. Just keep your eye on the water surface and you can't go wrong. Gas anomalies are more of a pain, because there's basically no air to breath. Getting squirted by one is no fun, believe you me. That thing eats through a vest faster than sulfuric acid.
― Loners' description
The Swamp is a location in Zaton in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.
Overview[]
The swamp is an accumulation of gravitational and chemical anomalies located in the northwestern part of Zaton. The gravitational anomalies have caused severe distortions of the ground and water level, appearing as either severe depressions in the case of Springboards, or elevations in the case of Vortexes. The Swamp is also a very corrosive area and is full of Gas anomalies. Despite the area having gravitational and chemical anomalies, it only spawns chemical-type artifacts, by default a Meat Chunk.
Prior to the events of the game, the Stingray 5 helicopter crashed into the Swamp. To the northeast of the swamp is a small campfire where stalkers can be found.
Appearances[]
Call of Pripyat[]
It is one of the focal points of the main storyline, as the player is required to investigate Stingray 5's wreckage.
Loot[]
There is a footlocker beside the helicopter, which contains a PB-1s pistol alongside 50 rounds of 9x18mm +P+, an Army medkit and an Antidote.
