for god's sake, can someone standardise the weapon names in this article? Either use the real names or the in-game names. Please don't keep mixing them up!

Killing off Duty[]

If one was to kill everyone in the Duty base, and generally throughout Rostok, would you still be able to get to the Bar, and use it?

Yep. (If you mean SoC) Octurion 22:26, January 29, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, I mean in SoC. What happens when you kill everyone, does Rostok suddenly become real quiet, save for the Bar?

If you attack Duty they will attack you, meaning that if you leave and come back all of the Duty troops in the area will open fire and hunt you down (they might follow you into the bar). I know that if you do kill everyone in the area and go to the bar Zhorik and Garik may also become hostile; Zhorik is stuck in his booth and can only attack when you go past him, Garik will attack when you go into the bar itself. If you have a lot of grenades you can lure Garik up by his brother (he stays around the corner from the entrance, so you can't shoot at him) and with some luck you can kill him, sometimes you can kill Zhorik too. how do you join them in CoP?[]

How do you join them im not sure what i have to do.Flaming skull of heaven 13:31, July 15, 2010 (UTC)flaming skull

You can't join them (since you're already an agent for the government), but you can prefer them over the other two groups (freedom and loners) in certain actions, for which you'll have a better reputation with them. A Friend of Duty Achievement page should have all the info and links that you'll need to satisfy your ambitions. Chikubi 15:15, July 15, 2010 (UTC)

What duty tells newbies[]

I was file-crawling and found this in the same area as the duty guys who tell you about their "cool" uniform.

  <text>
 We've been here since the beginning. The first
 group was made up of the surviving members of special
 units sent into the Zone to find out what caused it to
 appear. We found ourselves in pretty dire circumstances.
 After half of the unit died horribly, those who survived
 swore that they wouldn't leave here until they understood
 what is going on in the Zone.. until they defeat it.

It seems to conflict little with the truth apparent in CoP, but it might just be a watered down version of duty's founding.

It doesn't conflict with what Call of Pripyat revealed. This is what Duty tells everyone, and it is true. Call of Pripyat just reveals that the leader of Duty sabotaged their radio equipment, leaving them to be stuck in the Zone. This was unknown until Degtyarev uncovered it.
