"Things of the dead stalker" article Edit

Hi, sorry for the late reply.

The article was deleted since it didn't contain any useful info (there was just basic structure). Feel free to create it from scratch. Octurion (talk) 11:14, July 15, 2013 (UTC)

Reply Edit

Hi, you did quite an impressive job creating and editing all those stash articles. As for the navboxes, I think it would be better to create one big stash navbox for the whole game and merge it with the smaller ones (categorized by locations).(eg. {{SoCStahes}})

And don't worry I don't think that anyone is going to remove the articles you've created since they contain much valid information. The original problem with keeping separate pages for the stashes was rooted in the belief(afaik) that there wasn't enough proper data to fill them with. And so, it would have been better to keep them on a single page or on multiple pages sorted by locations.

"There seems to be no Location relating to the Bandits' HQ / ranch / compound." You mean there is no article with such content or name? It is possible the page was merged. Our location pages are a big mess, desperately needing cleanup too. If there's no such page you can still create one. Octurion (talk) 14:30, December 26, 2013 (UTC)

Re: Drifter Edit

I didn't add any direct links cause some of them either leads to GameFront pages, which blocked access from some countries (including Poland, where I live) or leads to dead links. This fix is included in Sky Reclamation Project, though. The interesting thing is that SRP is still continued :) So yeah, it worths linking to it. Pangia, 12:08, April 12, 2014 (UTC)

Re: Speedruns Edit

No problem. I don't know, if you're willing to make such a page, then… Aw hell, you're the admin here, why you're asking me for it? ;)
About the gate in Garbage, AFAIR after killing Warrant Officer it also opens so you won't block plot of the game (but I'm not sure, I may be mistaken). Pangia, 16:55, June 4, 2014 (UTC)

Re: Weapon Cost Edit

Nah, I just didn't noticed I hadn't iserted "if" parameter. I guess weapon cost can be used for Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat as there all the weapons have a set value in their info.Crap, forgot this info is also presented in Shadow of Chernobyl. In this case, I guess, it can be used for any weapon. I haven't explored this wiki templates yet, so I do not know if there's something like "hint" one that can give a description by clicking on something. If there's such a thing, we can just add a "hint" explaining that the cost is given according to the item description and it can be different from selling/buying one. retard Retard's sign 21:05, June 9, 2014 (UTC)

Delete Me Edit

This and this–they are both about the same quest. retard Retard's sign 11:50, June 11, 2014 (UTC)

I cannot see what are you talking about. The only thing I did is that I reported there are two articles about the same thing (unacceptable thing for a wiki, if you ask me). I can merge them but I'm not an admin here so I cannot delete it myself–therefore I'm asking you to delete it as you are the only active admin here.

And what's wrong with redirects? I know it's called 'PSO-1 scope' in game (at least in Russian version of SoC), but, FYI, there's already a 'Scope' word in 'PSO' abbreviation, so 'PSO-1' is a correct way to write outside this wiki. I cannot see how do redirects harm wiki. retard Retard's sign 14:56, June 11, 2014 (UTC)

>>Deleting.
So, you want a contrib to decide for an admin which one should be deleted? As you wish. Although it sounds ferociously for me that the article should be flagged and so on on an abandoned wiki, especially when it's such an obvious case.

>>Redirect.
I still cannot see why are you talking this way. Why, do you think, there're redirects presented in wikis at all? Maybe all of them should be deleted 'cause they doesn't match "Occam's Razor" rule (although, IMO, they themselves are for "KISS")?

Tl;dr: all these things sound ferociously for me. retard Retard's sign 17:16, June 11, 2014 (UTC)

I didn't even remember they had some kind of manual. :D
Also, I didn't hear about any mod which would have to use some other mod to work, everyone needs just game (or, in case of LA, nothing but space on HDD). Pangia, 15:17, July 19, 2014 (UTC)

We gotta wait with this, that XVid is probably needed for that cutscene with some mission with… dunno, some escape from helicopter or sth (I didn't play LA lol) and they say they gonna get rid of it in next patch cause many players has problems with „Can't open video stream” error there even after installing all that shit which comes with mod. Some help with infoboxes on another wikia? Edit

Hello! I know you are one of our finest when it comes down to these things. I can only fill info at most :( I wanted to make one of the pages on The Withcer wiki look better. So I looked at the Polish and Russian versions of the same page. They had infoboxes and were much better constructed and more informative. Here is the page in English: http://witcher.wikia.com/wiki/Triss_Merigold Polish: http://wiedzmin.wikia.com/wiki/Triss_Merigold

Can you make a infobox like the Polosh one for the english witcher wikia and/or show me how to make them (at last)? --Charcharo (talk) 08:23, October 26, 2014 (UTC)|

Stubs Edit

Yeah, well, sorry for that "thingy" stuff, ya know, there are still some corners of the English that i haven't discovered yet. At school it's all about the grammar (not my forte anyway), so i'm trying to learn the words on my own and coupling ain't really common. But i'll know next time. Also about the stub templates, i don't really feel eligible enough to remove them. Also as far as i know there is some limit of words. The page should have at least this much words to reach encyclopedical status, but i don't know the exact number so i'd rather ask than mess the things up. Peace! I see. I didn't actually expected Jr Mime to block the guy, usually they just delete the page and nothing else (other VSTF guys did this before), maybe that's just Jr Mime's MO. RainingPain17 (talk) 09:21, November 24, 2015 (UTC)

While snooping around the outfits.ltx of SoC 1.0005 I found the leftover, in-game code is military_stalker_outfit. Will add it to the page and precise it's a leftover code from SoC and thus does not work in CS nor CoP. RainingPain17 (talk) Rain 10:36, November 24, 2015 (UTC)

Bullet Lists Edit

I'm having trouble with bullet lists, where the first item doesn't render properly. Example: Electrical panel in workshop. I've looked at the Help example, and tried a few other things, but nothing seems to work. Please advise.

Questions Edit

Hey there! I have few questions abou the wiki layout:

1. The wiki backround is gone and it doesn't look good. Are you going to put it back?

2. Wouldn't it be user-friendlier to use Comments instead of Talk pages?

3: Are you going to add achievements?

Thanks a lot :) 46.33.102.204 15:28, January 31, 2016 (UTC)

  1. Agreed. No idea where it went. If it crops up - yes.
  2. I'm not the owner of the wiki. Not my call. No opinion either way.
  3. Try the search facility. Pretty sure someone added these.

French interwiki Edit

Hi, I just posted this on the talk page of another administrator but i'm not sure he's still active on this wiki. I don't wanna spam it so I'll just try it here :

"Hi, I'm coming from the french recenlty created wikia on STALKER (http://fr.stalker.wikia.com/wiki/Wiki_S.T.A.L.K.E.R.) and I've few questions :)

First, I took inspiration from your design to create mine, and I hope it's not a problem (I saw that many others foreign wikias did it too). I'll probably add my personnal touch later, but ftm I just need to gain time.

Then I've a little problem : I would like to set up some interwiki links. But our wikis probably don't have the same name and the usual way (en:"name of the page" for example) doesn't work. It's my first wiki here as a foundator, so I don't know exactly how it works. Also, I'd like to use the same pictures as yours just in putting the same name (to not have to upload them one by one). I think this is a proper wikia fonctionnality and in all of my previous wikis it worked perfectly, but not here. Do I have to activate something ?

Finally I'd just like to tell you that I'm ready to collaborate as much as I can, though my wiki is still a new born :)"

OzonePSD (talk) 15:17, April 19, 2016 (UTC)

Thank you man for your answer,

All what you told to me was helpfull (as I didn't know all of these tips) but you didn't really resolve my problem. It's obviously my fault, I could have been clearer. So :

The real problem is that my interwikis links are broken in most of the cases (even if they are pointing to a valid destination) and I don't know where it comes from. To be more specific, the only wiki which really works is the ukrainian one. For example, look at this page : http://fr.stalker.wikia.com/wiki/S.T.A.L.K.E.R._:_Shadow_of_Chernobyl. You can see below that the link to the ukrainian page is working well, but those to your wiki and the russian one are broken.

* Do you have any idea about my second issue ? You know, the files/pictures sharing between same wikis. This is very important to me, cause I really don't have the time to upload all your pictures on my wiki...

Thank you again for giving me some of your time :)

OzonePSD (talk) 17:13, April 19, 2016 (UTC)

UPDATE

Well, I just visited the french Community Center and I found what I was looking for... in 5 minutes. Actually when you create a wikia, you have to ask the staff to activate the interwiki links between all the same foreign wikis. I guess it'll be ok in few days. My "files uploading" issue will probably be resolved in the same time.

My bad on this, I took your time for nothing. At least you will know it if by chance you decide to create your own wiki... small compensation tho, haha. Thanks for all, I hope I'll see you again in the future for a real collaboration :)

Agroprom edits

Hi,

About the agroprom bandit edits...

I went to the wiki page based on what was listed as location on the map- if you feel as if the description of the boodsucker spawn better belongs on the "factory" page, feel free to do so.

Though, I think that the bandit and military reoccupation attempts should be left in "agroprom research institute" as in my personal experience those factions attempt to recapture all sections of agroprom- including the institute AND the factory.

What do you think should be done?

Private Hazzard (talk) 22:14, May 12, 2016 (UTC)

Not really sure how these Talk pages work, but no worries for the edit!

The walkthrough pages for SoC were all horribly inconsistent and didn't link back properly to their respective areas so I decided to tidy them all up.

Secret Stash DuplicateEdit

Secret Stash has the same information as Secret Stash (Bar) (5). I'd like to use it for the Secret Stash in the Wild Territory near the transition point to Yantar.

Regarding List of Primary Missions

I'd like to write these missing pages up, but I'm confused with the pages that are already here. I hate messing with other people's work (unless it's wrong), but some of these links point to Walkthrough pages and some to stand-alone articles. Also, some have an info box and some do not. I was thinking of using Get information from the scout as a model. What would you suggest?

Repeated articles Edit

ExplanationEdit

Hello there! While i was casually browsing through all of Sidorovich's missions on SoC, after adding a category to one of them, i realized that a duplicate article was present, the difference between them were things like the capitalization of some words, like Bandit for example. In one of the two articles, i expanded it while adding extra stuff and porting from the other article , since the one i edited was the less disorganized of the two, none were perfect honestly.

The articles themselvesEdit

Eliminate two bandits at the Garbage

Eliminate two Bandits at the Garbage

RequestEdit

So from my past experience in these few days, i noticed that some articles can be "flagged for deletion" by an Admin, i don't know if this is the same policy for duplicate articles, but deleting it could be an option to free up more space in the website hosting service, or a redirect could be created from one page to the other in order to prevent corruption of other links that linked to the shittier less developed article.

Portable Infoboxes Edit

Hello! I'm Duckey, and I'm representing FANDOM's Vanguard team. We're users who volunteer to help communities adopt to new technologies and features, like content portability. We've identified S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Wiki as a high priority for introducing the Portable Infobox tool, which has a lot of benefits for your community. I'd like to reproduce the look and feel of your desktop infoboxes in global CSS, and work to update the infobox templates themselves so that they can be accessible on any current and future platform. I've created a before/after comparison here and as you can see differences between them are very minor.

We'd really like to get working on your community, but we would appreciate your go-ahead. Also, if you have any questions, or this is the wrong venue for this kind of a discussion, please let me know. Thanks!

– 14 DuckeyD 10:03, July 24, 2018 (UTC)

  • Ordinarily, I would have no objection to "green lighting" you and say "Have at it!!" (I was fortunate enough to have an enthusiast who was far more code-fluent than me assist in a similar migration at the Lost Alpha wiki. With the exception of a few image file sizes the results are excellent)
  • However, while I am the Head admin there - I'm just a lowly sysop here (although it does look as though I am the most active 'admin' currently)...
  • What I am driving at here is that it seems that it's "not my call" and that you should probably (try to) contact one or other of the Bureaucrats here for approval. The reason for my saying that should not imply any disrespect concerning your proficiency at all. My concern would be that this wiki uses a yuuuuge amount of CSS and obsolescent mediawiki to construct its Iboxes. messing with THAT could eff up the wiki in unexpected and highly unwanted ways.
  • Bottom line: try contacting Octurion, SHIELD unit or even Boredgunner or (long shot) Tagaziel; give it a few weeks for a reply (yeah, yeah, I know..) then get back to ME as default option...
  • In the meantime, if you feel the need to assist a wiki, feel free to rectify any Ibox image formatting whoopsies at the Lost Alpha wiki with my approval ..
  • Finally, the guy who did the LA migration (ElessarTheOnly - is very joined up, and you might want him helping your team. Your call.
Byte Me (talk) 11:01, July 24, 2018 (UTC)
Hi again! I feel that I need to clarify some things:
However, while I am the Head admin there - I'm just a lowly sysop here (although it does look as though I am the most active 'admin' currently)...
I understand that you are not a bureaucrat, although you have mentioned a very important aspect – you are the most active admin. As mentioned before your wiki is a high priority community and because of that we can't wait for months hoping an inactive bureaucrat (none of them edited in the last 3 years) will reply. Please understand that I need a "green light" from any community representative, not necessarily a bureaucrat. If you still feel that I need to contact someone with higher rights let me know.
My concern would be that this wiki uses a yuuuuge amount of CSS and obsolescent mediawiki to construct its Iboxes. messing with THAT could eff up the wiki in unexpected and highly unwanted ways.
None of the currently used CSS will be removed if there's a chance something might break. The source code will be simplified but the infoboxes will behave exactly the same as before. The drafts are hold separately from the existing infobox code (Template:Infobox Stash and Template:Infobox Stash/Draft) and you will have a chance to review how the new version behaves in any article. You will also be able to ask for any changes if you don't like the final effect. None of the articles will have to be edited to make the new infoboxes work. The chance that anything on your community will break because of the migration is non-existent.
feel free to rectify any Ibox image formatting whoopsies at the Lost Alpha wiki with my approval
I couldn't find any broken infoboxes over at the Lost Alpha Wiki. Please provide an example and I will try to take care of that.
Finally, the guy who did the LA migration (ElessarTheOnly - is very joined up, and you might want him helping your team. Your call.
Thanks I will bring him up if I have a chance.
If there are any other concerns message me and I'll try to answer any of your questions.

  • Right then. I'll spell it out.
  1. Considering the vandalism that this site has had in the past, I have an EXTREMELY low threshold for the "hurry up, I need an answer", routine.
  2. Irrespective of whether you feel a pressing need for migration or not (out of the blue - I might add), I see little urgency in light of the fact that these 'portable infoboxes' have been in play for several years AND that it is impossible to play the canon games on a mobile device.
  3. Furthermore, Wikia (sorry - FANDOM) saw fit to foist 'visual editor' upon its userbase, at which point contributions from any rational POV went 'into the toilet'. That may just be coincidence.
  4. Through all of this, this site generally achieves 150k daily visits. Nothing special but down from 220k. It has maintained this for at least 5 years, and the game base is mature.
  5. I never claimed "broken infoboxes" at Lost Alpha. There aren't any. Even a machine code junkie like me can see that. I specified "Ibox image formatting" 'errors'. Something that you may verify by comparing these pages:
  6. Izlom's arm
  7. Cat's Noggin
  8. Izlom
  9. or... Sin
  10. ..and Duty
  • Have a squint, and see what you think.
As for this "dash to mobile everything" that FANDOM seems obsessed with; colour me 'unimpressed'. I could number on ONE HAND how much input has arrived from mobile devices, and probably on ONE FINGER how much has survived triage. Obviously it's being plugged as a vector for advertising.
Get back to me after examining those LA pages please.
Byte Me (talk) 13:24, July 24, 2018 (UTC)
Hello, Byte Me. I'd like to address some of the things you mentioned. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Wiki has been on our radar for a while, and we're at the point where (as of this week) it made our priority list based on traffic. 150k is not a tiny amount! This wiki has actually been on the periphery of where we'd introduce ourselves and is one of the next in line. Because of your weekly page-views and how many of those page-views pass through classic infoboxes (a statistic which we call "migration impact"), that has ranked you higher on the list. How much "input" (by which I assume you mean anecdotes you triage or contributions) comes from mobile devices may be harder for you to see; however, what is of more interest to us is the number of readers that are using mobile devices. Our Quantcast metrics say that the monthly number of unique visitors (in other words, unique individual devices accessing the content) from mobile devices is over 51%, which is very common for most of our communities. And people frequently access wiki information while their main participation or viewing is on other devices, otherwise known as the "second screen". It's not about advertising; it's about the reality of the internet in 2018.
The reason for a more accelerated timetable is because volunteers like Duckey have a limited amount of time that the Vanguard team assigns to complete each community, as their time is valuable and availability limited. What we've found is that communities that say "we'll get to it in our own time" rarely actually take any kind of action without external prompting, and then they don't always feel like they have the opportunity or expertise. Vanguard makes up for that gap by taking the guesswork off the local community's "plate" and expertly does the migration in a way that's meant to be seamless or low friction. Basically, all they need is guidance if there's anything you had planned but hadn't gotten around to. The blessing of at least a single admin is preferred.

So let me see if I have this straight:
  1. I ruffle DuckeyD's feathers and he runs off and tells tales to a grownup with the idea that that grownup will 'clarify' matters.
  2. I gave a very reasonable (and quite genuine) reason for my reluctance to approve the proffered assistance on the basis of (non) seniority. DD appears to have been engaged in preliminary modification work (without approval). Fortunately, this appears to be now suspended.
  3. Your assertion concerning communities that say:
.."we'll get to it in our own time"..
- FishTank @fandom (wall
is at best a non-argument. I never made such an assertion, nor implied that others here might. I merely attempted to "kick it upstairs".
  1. Then this:
How much "input" (by which I assume you mean anecdotes you triage or contributions) comes from mobile devices may be harder for you to see;
- FishTank @fandom (wall
It's not hard at all. There's a big clue here. From the perspective of the admin, the editing method is appended for 'Visual Editor' or 'Mobile'. So it's not hard to see that almost zero edits or contributions arise from handhelds. Which brings me to the last point of interest:
  1. When you say:
Our Quantcast metrics say that the monthly number of unique visitors (in other words, unique individual devices accessing the content) from mobile devices is over 51%, which is very common for most of our communities. I generally file this sort of stuff in the "Our research shows.." section and give it a wide berth. But let's dig in a little. Basically this reduces the number of actual visitors well below the original 150k to some value between 73-150k only quantifiable with 2nd screen hard data.
  1. Further, as previously noted, contribution via mobdev is negligible. And it's not getting better any time soon...
  2. As for advertising - I have to block it completely on my PC, or I can't get any work done. FANDOM could do themselves a great service by making it less intrusive. I'm all for a 'middle way' - everyone has to eat..
But I digress from the matter at hand.
The blessing of at least a single admin is preferred.
- FishTank @fandom (wall
Well I'm sure that it might be. (For "blessing" I assume you meant "authorization") Which currently is NOT given. Under no circumstances will I be pressured into providing such approval just because a subordinate sics his superior on me simply because he wants to play "Electric Crocodile" with his workload. The correct response might have been to (attempt to) contact the bureaucrats nominally involved, and get back to me by default after a reasonable period. I think a month was suggested. As for the

Seriously? Then the Vanguard strategy needs revision in the PR, Planning and Implementation departments. FANDOM have thousands of other wikis, some of which are also needy of attention, give some of them the "Hurry up treatment".
More importantly, EVERYONE has a "limited amount of time" - how much we assign to working and living are, of course, personal choices - but all of us in this conversation should take advantage of the High Season weather and "get out more."

Many of the issues you've mentioned are not related to the matter at hand, and I do not intend to discuss them here. Complaints and suggestions about things not having to do with Vanguard or Portable Infoboxes should be sent to Special:Contact. Complaints and suggestions about Vanguard or Portable Infoboxes can also be sent to me via Special:Contact.
It may not have been clear that Vanguard (of which I'm a coordinator) assigned Duckey to this community. So, he didn't run off and tell anyone; I was already monitoring for a response. Attacking him will not be tolerated, and I suggest you not do so. However, given that you have declared you are not qualified to provide a "yea or nay" and no one present is, our protocol is to continue the migration. If you are (on the other hand) exercising an option to opt out on behalf of your community, that is a decision we will accept until your community comes up again in Vanguard's rotation. So, I'll recommend Duckey continue to make non-invasive drafts and additions to your community's CSS (as he is within his FANDOM mandate to do) until either such time as one of the bureaucrats you mentioned says "no" (in which case we'll revisit in a few months) or work is completed (after which a decision maker has 5 working days to reject them or suggest changes). He will tell you when they're complete, if you wish to test them. Beyond that point, Vanguard members and FANDOM staff can approve the drafts.
Our end goal is to make progress at a reasonable pace in the areas where the readers are, rather than the contributors who make up a super-minority on any community. At present, that means that adopting Portable Infoboxes are the best option for FANDOM communities. If there's a technical blocker (such as a missing feature) that is preventing your community's adoption of otherwise identical technology that costs you nothing, feel free to contact me directly. We're all on the same side and want to make the communities a better place for everyone. Thanks! 😊 — FishTank @fandom (wall) 05:48, July 26, 2018 (UTC)

  • So why did you raise them in the first place?
It may not have been clear that Vanguard (of which I'm a coordinator) assigned Duckey to this community. So, he didn't run off and tell anyone; I was already monitoring for a response.
- FishTank @fandom (wall
  • It wasn't. And in any event, I offered him a chance to prove himself on a related wiki with a minor formatting issue directly related to the (proposed) work at hand. I did that because I DO have the authority to approve such work at that wiki. He basically 'passed' on the issue rather than demonstrating his proficiency.
Attacking him will not be tolerated, and I suggest you not do so.
- FishTank @fandom (wall
  • Get over yourself. I never implied that I intended to attack anyone. If you dispute that - provide examples.
  • For the rest, knock yourselves out. When it's prepped contact me if you do not have a decision from a more senior bureaucrat in the meantime.
Have a nice day! Byte Me (talk) 06:25, July 26, 2018 (UTC)
Hi again, I've upgraded some of your top infoboxes. Please check them out and preview them on a few of your pages as soon as you have time. If you're happy with how they've turned out, go ahead and approve them. If some of them are not acceptable, please tell me. Best regards,
– 14 DuckeyD 16:45, August 3, 2018 (UTC)
I am a bit busy this weekend, but will attempt to check them out soonest.
Byte Me (talk) 16:52, August 3, 2018 (UTC)
Hey, I've prepared more drafts. You can check them out here. Please note that the Vanguard team will approve the drafts on or after August 17, 2018 if we don't hear from you.
– 14 DuckeyD 12:49, August 10, 2018 (UTC)
  • I suggest that if that is the "option" (i.e. no option) then you can go right ahead and implement your work. If you break anything - you get to fix it.
Byte Me (talk) 14:31, August 10, 2018 (UTC)
  • Update..
That usually means, OK, Dziękuję bardzo, and knock yourself out while you implement your work. You get to pick up the pieces....

Referances for Bloodsucker (Lovecraft referance) Edit

Ok, I’ll get a few images with referances for Bloodsucker. I’m on my phone right now, I’m pretty bad editing pages from the phone, so I’ll upload them from my PC around a week later. Probably I’ll upload the illustration from the book (The Call of Ctulhu, Turkish translation) H. P. Lovecraft FTW Mirochi 11:48, January 27, 2019 (UTC)

Maybe a bloodsucker has come to visit your :p Mirochi 12:08, January 27, 2019 (UTC)

Finally managed to add a photo to Bloodsucker. I got busy after this conversation and then forgot to add it. Sorry about that Mirochi 19:05, February 20, 2019 (UTC)

Hi, Byte Me,

I cannot log in to this site with my usual Sputnicwiki account, for a few days now. I have tried a new password etc. but with no luck. I could create a new account but would loose my contributions history etc. Any suggestions??? 94.197.55.9 15:38, January 30, 2019 (UTC)

Re: Login problem. Edit

Hi, Byte Me,

Thanks for replying to my login problem. I managed to get a new password on the third attempt and I am able to login to my old account again. Thanks again. Sputnikwiki (talk) 16:02, January 31, 2019 (UTC)

Discord for this wiki Edit

Hi. I have been thinking about adding a Discord server to our wiki for quite some time. Perhaps it will help us to reinvigorate our community a little. Polish wiki already has it and several other gaming wikis too. What do you think? Octurion (talk) 20:29, February 5, 2019 (UTC)

Sounds like it might have some legs, the contrib traffic declined immediately after Wikia (now "Fandom") introduced the Visual Editor as standard...so anything that restimulates is a positive.

New background Edit

Hey, thanks! I've decided to get back into the swing of things and master the Wikia skin again here. Glad to see my changes rub people the right way. :)

I chose to base the color scheme on the colors of the menus from SHOC and CS. The background was a neat bonus. I still have to cleanup the CSS, though. Personal_Sig_Image.gif Tagaziel (call!) 17:39, March 5, 2019 (UTC)

Your Wiki Manager Edit

Hi Byte Me! My name is Shrev, and I’m the Fandom Wiki Manager for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Wiki. I am here to help the community and be a liaison to full-time Fandom staff. Artifact Merger & Zombie Hand Edit

Just noticed a few articles lacking any categories. Were these cut from Shadow of Chernobyl or are they unique to Lost Alpha? Octurion (talk) 20:04, June 23, 2019 (UTC)

Tbah these date from the very early days of the 'spin-off' LA wiki. I'm not responsible for the Artifact Merger article, looks like an enthusiast cribbed some blurb from the LA wiki (with pic) and had a stab at an article. For the life of me, I don't know if this was cut SoC content or just partially coded vapourware lurking in the game code.
The Zombie Hand is a bit more involved. I myself created the redirect with an off-wiki target on the LA wiki. Again, this was in the early days both for LA and the LA Wiki. This is about as far as it was taken for the following logic-chain:
  1. Zombie is a Category:Shadow of Chernobyl cut content..
  2. The hypothetical Hand of a zombie is 'doubly cut'..
  3. Other bodyparts often carry over Boar's hoof is not necessarily the same as Boar's hoof.
So I drew a line relatively early on NOT to further confuse S.T.A.L.K.E.R. documentation with second level non-canon "data".
Personally, at the 'other place' I categorize hardwired redirects as "Redirects" on the basis of Occam's Razor.

(Bloody hell I'm exhausted..)

Well thank you :) Im glad that my contribution wasnt taken down seeing that previous peoples attempts had been. I gave it the best info i could find
