Hi, welcome to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Wiki! Thanks for your edit to the Image:SHOC Petrenko.png page.

The wiki is intended to be a wiki about both, Clear Sky and Shadow of Chernobyl. I think you must separate the wiki into 2 major categories --Marked One 18:16, 29 March 2009 (UTC)

I'll do that later --Marked One 19:32, 29 March 2009 (UTC)

Can you wait till the weekend ? I'm busy on weekdays

hi im new but we proberly shoud do someting about all red contexts so it becomes a bit more clear.

Hi MikaelGrizzly thanks for the silencer page. Later i'm gonna go on S.T.A.L.K.E.R SOC and get the silencer price. hi

Redirecting from Weapon names[edit source]

Hi! Please stop redirecting to non-existent weapon names (FT 200M -> FN 2000, TRs 301 -> ZM LR300, etc.). Do not forget that we are documenting computer game, so everything that appeared in-game (as for characters, locations, etc.) must be documented from game perspective not real life. Although it is not bad idea to create redirects from real world gun articles (redirect FN 2000 to FT 200M article) and cover their resemblence in "Behind the Scenes" section of the article. hey dude,did you create this wiki?could you tell me please?thanks!:)

hey mikael, just want to know if it is ok to make a synopsis of the endings, what they mean, and whats actually happening(humanity is currupt, it must be controlled is a bit confusing for most i know) would be nice to know, just write in my talk!

new templates[edit source]

Hi. Add this piece of code to the Mediawiki:Common.css file. It contains styling for several templates (inc. new infoboxes). Octurion 09:15, December 2, 2009 (UTC)

This stuff is preventing templates from displaying correctly (at the beginning of file mentioned above, (lines 22-51)), remove it: Octurion 15:51, December 2, 2009 (UTC)

/* Infobox template style */
.infobox {
   border: 1px solid #aaaaaa;
   background-color: #f9f9f9;
   color: black;
   margin-bottom: 0.5em;
   margin-left: 1em;
   padding: 0.2em;
   float: right;
   clear: right;
.infobox td,
.infobox th {
   vertical-align: top;
.infobox caption {
   font-size: larger;
   margin-left: inherit;
.infobox.bordered {

.infobox.bordered td,
.infobox.bordered th {
   border: 1px solid #aaaaaa;
.infobox.bordered .borderless td,

Scratch above. I think it is working correctly, at least for now. Octurion 12:25, December 3, 2009 (UTC)

endings[edit source]

hi, i was wondering if you would take a look at the endings page, see if there is anything you dont like, or something you disagree with, and perhaps we could make it more relevant. im a very new wikia writer, so any hint or help or whatever would be appreciated... also, could you help me get the endings article more accesible from the frontpage or something, or is it not important enough to it to be there? thanks in advance Warhjort 15:02, December 26, 2009 (UTC) Warhjort

weapon images[edit source]

Why you have removed the svu.png? And why did u revert recent edits in weapon pages? lafoxxx, July 19 2010,,12:43 gmt +03:00

re(1) weapon images[edit source]

I understand, but if there should be the in-game images, then why don't you make them yourself? By the way, when you ll open the model files in the viewer, you ll see that the weapon there comes with all possible attachments, and it s impossible to disattach them. The inventory icons are really low resolution. The ones from call of pripyat repair screen are with all attachments too. And even they are low resolution ones... At least do not remove the real life pics, ok? Because other people may not like seeing imageless pages... Lafoxxx, same date, 18:27 gmt +03:00

The original name of the Stalkers[edit source]

Hello Mikael. I know why they used the word Stalker from the book. I am questioning why they are using the English acronym S.T.A.L.K.E.R. instead of the Russian acronym С.Т.А.Л.К.Е.Р.. The original book, Roadside Picnic, actually has the original Russian title Пикник на обочине. The original word for Stalker was actually written as the Russian word "Сталкер" with Cyrillic letters, not the English word "Stalker" with English letters, although they are both pronounced almost exactly the same.

In the story for the game, the C-Consciousness started as a Soviet military experiment in controlling the noosphere. The C-Consciousness then created the acronym to tattoo on any Stalkers that they brainwashed and sent out into the Zone. The Soviet military would never use an English acronym, and by extension, neither would the C-Consciousness, since they would be thinking in Russian and writing in Cyrillic letters.

Since the acronym in English stands for the words, "Scavengers, Trespassers, Adventurers, Loners, Killers, Explorers, Robbers", I want to know what Russian words the Russian acronym stands for, or at least what words they applied to their acronym. The Russian analogues don't match, since they would be "Выносители, Люди которые поручают противоправный вход, Авантюристы, Одиночки, Убийцы, Исследователи, Разбойники. As you can see, only the 'A' and the 'P' fit correctly for their acronym. My question is, what Russian words do the other Cyrillic letters stand for?

Edit summaries[edit source]

Please start summarising your edits, it's getting ridiculous. You're eager to uphold wikipedia policy on article capitalising, yet you seem unable to follow this basic etiquette policy.

Thank you. Sigh, I know, I've got serious attitude issues, but I have the best intentions.
Are you able to edit the 'Community Corner' on the main page? If so, could you make use of it? i.e. pointing newcomers to the articles that need the most attention or something?

One change made to the VSS Vintorez (Vintar BC) I don't agree with[edit source]

Hello Mikael,

I checked your edit to the VSS Vintorez, and disagree with the removal of the rifles strewn on the ground in the Cordon. I know that they are there sometimes, because I have found them there twice. I actually found 4 VSS Vintorez rifles both times on the ground just South of the "barrier" encampment on the NorthWestern corner of the Cordon.

You also forgot to include a summary of why you removed this information, when I know that Chikubi has scolded you for it before. I think that the readers would find it very beneficial to find a FREE VSS Vintorez so early in the game. Wouldn't you agree with that?

Hyperion1248 12:39, August 10, 2010 (UTC)

A-Life doesn't tend to kill so close to a barrier to another section of the zone[edit source]

Hello, Mikael,

I know about how dangerous the A-Life can be. I have seen it at work at clearing the Anomalous camp just North of the Rookie Camp.. But, in this case, there were rifles all over the place, even throughout the barrier encampment. Also, the barrier just beyond it in the garbage was already held by Loners. If it was A-Life, then the Loners in the Garbage barrier encampment would have been dead, too, and more weapon detritus would have remained scattered around there, too. The only way the A-Life could have done it is from the Great Swamps entrance to the SouthWest. The thing is, I'm not sure that A-life would have such an easy time taking out the veteran stalkers anyway. The Anomalous camp got wiped out, but they were all Rookies.

Changing to IGN titles[edit source]

User:SHIELD unit has left instructions on where to go at the end of Forum:So what 'is' the current gun name status?
Noone else has chosen to contribute.
I'll be following his checklist when returning to IGN titles
User:Octurion, User:Dabur and me also support the move.
No clue what User:Boredgunner thinks, I've left him a message. If you think others such as User:Hyperion1248 should be explicitly asked to contribute, then message them. Until shield and octurion say otherwise, it's going ahead.

Re: Hey man[edit source]

Should be possible with JavaScript; basically you'd need three divs (one with one version of the content, one with the other version and a "button" for switching) and a small script. The script would hide one div and show the other when the button is clicked (and vice versa when the button is clicked again). Alternatively, you could try and see whether you can modify the Tabview extension so it does what you're looking for; it's based on the same principle, just with multiple buttons instead of one. Hope that helps :) -- Porter21 (talk) 17:01, August 16, 2010 (UTC)

I'll see whether I can find the time. No promises though - I don't have much free time at the moment, and I still need to get The Vault's new infobox template finished before FNV hits. -- Porter21 (talk) 07:34, August 24, 2010 (UTC)

Concerning the UAV article[edit source]

Hey thanks for the welcome! I have a question on the UAV article which I left on its discussion page.

This wiki's POV[edit source]

I've been to a couple of wikis before, and they all had their own conventions concerning point-of-view. I see a lot of second-person being used ('you') and some third-person ('the player', 'he', 'she'). Understandably, first-person is strongly discouraged in articles like on most wikis. I use third-person automatically because I find it more authoritative and formal, but which would you prefer? Description and flavour text would probably be third-person, but detailed explanation of game mechanics (say, a walkthrough or a describing directions) becomes a toss-up between 'personal' or 'professional' language. What would you recommend I use in either case? Dthvirus 15:23, August 25, 2010 (UTC)

Anomalous Phenomena Research Institute Maps[edit source]

Hi, Im not a member of this wiki project, but I am a keen Stalker fan, and I have been creating a homebrewed tabletop RPG based on the stalker series, and using this wiki as a quick refrence. Can I ask where you got the tactical map provided on the 'Great Swamp' article? It would be great if I could get more similar ones for the other areas as handouts for my players.

Just some questions[edit source]

Thanks for the prompt reply about POV last time. I have a few things I'd like to know.

  • Would you prefer American English or Canadian English, or both? For example: "Tire Center"/"Tire Centre" respectively. I'm leaning heavily towards American English, but being Canadian, I still have to whack myself in the head and change 'armour' to 'armor', 'colour' to 'color', and 'metre' to 'meter' every now and then.
  • Do you know a place that stores mission names for Call of Pripyat? Is it in the game files? I have little trouble recalling walkthroughs for missions, but I can never find the proper name for each one. For example: Bloodsucker Lair/Bloodsuckers Lair/Destroy the bloodsucker lair. I ended up making a ton of redirects instead. The ingame PDA has the names but when the quest is completed, it disappears completely and there's no log of completed quests to be seen like the previous games had. I think Call of Pripyat has a naming convention where it's [Mission Name]:[Objective], but I'm unsure if it holds for all missions. So just to recap, I don't know where to find accurate mission names short of starting a new game, and if you know how to access them, that'd be great.--Dthvirus 15:00, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

SoC bios[edit source]

Well, I'm going to check this out tomorrow. The informations provided by the manual appear to be quite incosistent with the game, in some aspects. Octurion 15:12, September 23, 2010 (UTC)

So, I dug up some files and found the following: stalkers_ranking_character.xml (stalkers_ranking_character_16.xml). It appears this file handles the positioning of the UI elements of the appropriate PDA section. Hovewer, I was unable to check this out (Can't find my SoC disk), so you can (or someone else) try it by yourself, just replace the content in your file. Try to change some string in the file to see whether it's the correct file or not. I modified the file by removing the underscores from the <biography_list> elements.
I wouldn't trust the manual, it contains some errors: For example, gaining points by collecting rare artifacts - I'm sure this isn't implemented. Octurion 22:27, September 25, 2010 (UTC)

I dont know if you know this already but me and some of my friends are making a movie called "MONOLITH WHISPER". Due to some reasons, i was unable to post the link to our Website or Facebook page in the blog section of this wiki. The movie is almost complete and it will be releasing in March 2011. If you could just make a blog on our movie to let the other stalkers know of it, it would be of great help. Sorry i cant post any links here, but please give me a mail at blood.crusader7@gmail.com. Thank you for spreading the whisper, good friend :)

Ammo template[edit source]

It doesn't allow for multiple entries for multiple games like the weapon template does... at this moment all ammo stats are only relevant to CS/CoP... and even that is far from perfect. Not only is "good" and "bad" inaccurate, it seems like the stats are mostly guesses. I have the stats and I have the will to edit them in, but I don't have a template.
