― In-game description

In Shadow of Chernobyl, the VOG-25R is one of the two grenade types available in the VOG-25 family. Compared to regular VOG-25 grenades, its main difference is its ability to jump one meter before detonation.

Acquisition[]

The VOG-25R cannot be bought from traders. They can be found in the Dark Valley, Lab X-18, Wild Territory and in the Army Warehouses inside the armory in the Freedom base. It can be obtained from the following stashes: Goodies of the dead stalker in Red Forest and a chest stash in the Bar.

Clear Sky[]

The VOG-25R is implemented in the game files of Clear Sky, suggesting it was meant to return but was cut from the final version. It reuses the VOG-25's name and description.

Similarly to the 9x39mm SP-5 ammunition, VOG-25R grenades do not exist anywhere in-game but can be spawned with the use of modifications. They can be used with the GP-25 and the Tunder S14, but not the Bulldog 6.

Trivia[]

  • The VOG-25R is referred to internally as "VOG-25P" which is derived from the grenade's spelling in Cyrillic - "ВОГ-25Р".
  • Unlike the M209 Grenade, the VOG-25 is a caseless shell, meaning its propellant is stored within the grenade itself and it does not leave a an empty shell after being fired. Unlike other grenades, the VOG-25R is designed to "Rebound" when it explodes which is known as Extended Range Low Pressure, this extends the grenade's lethality by 1 meter as it "jumps" upon primary detonation.
