Vodka weights 0.3kg (0.6kg in Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat) a bottle and is used to get drunk and to cure radiation poisoning, to those new to festive drinks and STALKER, Vodka is liquor and one will get drunk from drinking it. It clears ~25-30% radiation of your body (50% in Call of Pripyat). Drinking vodka has the disadvantage of getting drunk, which means your view will move in circles and vision will be slightly degraded from flashing colors and movement of the player's vision, this is quite a problem if shooting at long ranges (the more vodka, the faster the movement). Vodka should be used only in cases when there isn't a soldier behind the corner and the accumulated radiation is small. If you, however, aim for collecting items and selling them.
