A mysterious swamp anomaly that suppresses light sources.
Location description.
The Wandering Lights is a unique psi/chemical anomaly, and one of the six arch anomalies encountered in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
General characteristics[]
The Wandering Lights is located in Northeastern Zaton, between the Weather Station, Opachychi, and Swamp Tram. It's only visible for six hours out of the day, and when it's inactive it looks like a relatively empty patch of land. When active, a mix of green stationary and moving chemical-based "drops" of light inhabit the area. Entering the anomaly will dim all lights outside of the faint light the drops provide, and will prevent usage of the flashlight.
Regardless of time, the player will take psi damage when walking inside the anomaly area. The damage is negligible however, as it won't spawn apparitions or deal any physical damage. The psi effects disappear instantly after leaving the anomaly.
Heart of Chornobyl[]
Between 2200 and 0400 the Wandering Lights becomes active, giving the player an opportunity to find the Weird Water artifact.
The only light source inside the anomaly is the drops or a weapon with a laser-scope, however the benefit is minimal. Walking through the drops will deal the same amount of damage as walking in any chemical anomaly. Straying away from or keeping the drops out of sight will visually drown the player in pitch black, even if the player maxes out the game brightness/gamma settings.
Trivia[]
- Currently, this is the only arch anomaly with a location description, even though isn't displayed in-game.
