Afterwards, it becomes clear Wolfhound's group is after the scientific data carried by professor [[Kruglov]] and they have no problems killing Kruglov in order to obtain it. The subject of this article appears in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl. The subject of this article appears in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.

Wolfhound (Ru. Волкодав) is a mercenary leader who appears in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl. He is also briefly mentioned in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.

Background[]

One of the first field commanders of the Mercs. The leader of the gang calling themselves "Curs". An anarchist despising all laws except the law of the jungle[non-game. 1].

One of his favorite and rightly infamous habits was to shoot off his target's arms, legs, and then the head before it hits the ground using his custom UDP Compact named March[quote. 1].

Appearances[]

Shadow of Chernobyl[]

When the Marked One first enters the Wild Territory, he overhears a mercenary identifying his position and asking Wolfhound for further instructions. He simply replies that it's protocol to eliminate all witnesses regardless. After the player kills all the mercs stationed at the area, Wolfhound tries to radio in after hearing some gunshots and upon realizing they were slaughtered, he curses and orders one of his snipers to not underestimate the Marked One.

Suddenly, a helicopter is shot down and Wolfhound laughs at the alleged hopelessness of the surviving Ecologists, thinking he has the upper hand. He tries to persuade Professor Kruglov to hand over the scientific data he is carrying to ensure he will not be harmed but the professor is not fooled; it becomes clear that Wolfhound has no qualms of killing Kruglov and any of his associates regardless of whether or not he has acquired the data. As the player approaches the helicopter's crash site, Wolfhound and his bodyguards will appear in a nearby shack.

It is very likely that the player will have to kill Wolfhound while escorting Kruglov to safety. Wolfhound is difficult to distinguish from the rest of his men, but tends to appear from the metal shack where the Loners tend to set up their camp in the helicopter crash site area.

Call of Pripyat[]

In Call of Pripyat, he is not seen but his custom UDP Compact March can be bought from Nimble, which most likely indicates he met his end at the hands of Strelok during his failed ambush in the Wild territory.

Dialogue[]

In the pre-release builds, Wolfhound was not a Mercenary but a member of Freedom. The player was given the opportunity to help Wolfhound take down Kruglov and his security detail, and secure his research information. Doing so would allow the player to claim a monetary reward alongside a GP-25 Koster grenade launcher from Snitch at the Bar[non-game. 2].
